my name is trishy, and i am a pricescope junkie. I love all the beautiful pictures of everyones AMAZING jewelry. i am addicted. period. so i''ve decided to come clean with you all....
20.gif

i have been attending the meetings here [aka the pricescope forum] for over 2 months now,
17.gif
religiously. my husband has actually commented on this, saying and i quote, "you''re kind of a little bit obsessed i think"

i feel like i know a lot of you. [that sounds weird and creepy] so i''d love to have you know me too.

i started looking for my dream e&w rings at the age of 16, at the mall, window shopping. [that is when i met my husband, we were first loves, then best friends for 10 years, then we moved in together] i had my dream ring picked out for what seemed like forever... and when my hubby and i decided to get married, alone, over a holiday weekend [01/01/2008], the only open store for ring purchase...... was walmart. I KNOW I KNOW.
my wedding ring was about 100, and his was 40.. but as far as him and i are concerned, OUR RINGS ARE PRICELESS.

of course the first thing everyone says after learning you have become engaged or married is...
"oh, congratulations, let me see your ring"
i would show my little band with 7 tiny diamonds. no one really knows where they came from, or how much they were.
i am telling you all, so you can know a little something about me.
anyways, i''d be told how it was ''cute''... stuff like that. then they would move on VERY QUICKLY.
one night, my husband was holding my hand and looking at my ring and he said, "i want to upgrade and add to your ring every year"
22.gif

well, let me tell ya!!! i aint gonna argue!!!!
our one year anniversary is coming up on January 1st, and he bought me my dream ring setting...
the classic ritani princess cut... pictured in my avatar.
and while i was waiting what seemed the longest 4 weeks ever i visited pictures of my ring online, and i stumbled upon
you all here....
30.gif
and i have never left. i received my ring. WHICH I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! people have a much different reaction to my ritani then they did to my walmart [aka my cute priceless wedding band]
but i figure if im adding/upgrading every year, i''m gonna need friends like you.

i have a ton of questions to ask, and compliments i want to give..
so without further ado
here i am... trishy

what i want to figure out now is.... i cant decide if i want a different cut in this setting. i want something square-ish..
but do i stick with the princess? princess h&a? do i go square radiant? asscher? a squarish cushion? i want the most sparkley, firey, brilliant-y diamond i can get.
31.gif

which of these will do it the best? has anyone seen a radiant or an asscher in a classic ritani instead of the princess? if so show me.
Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE when a diamond has a strong blue fluoresence so it looks lavender.
i once saw a tanzanite solitaire in a platinum tiffany type setting, it was amazing. but i know its a very soft stone, and lets face it.... I WANT A DIAMOND.
2.gif
is it best to get a whiter stone with strong blue fluor to get lavender? or can i still get a lower color and still get that lavender.

can anyone please show me pics of their lavender hues from fluor?

this is my wedding ring...

Can''t answer all your questions. I would stay away from asscher and emerald if you want the traditional sprakle.... I will post a pic or 2 of my diamond. 1.19 I med blue Fluor

without the fluoro

hope that helps

oh yes!!! that does help lots!!! thanks for answering.
your ring is amazing! i love that its an I color, its so beautiful!! im hoping to get a bigger stone like that someday. was it bought online?
i love the uv light pic. ooooooooooooo its so pretty!!
36.gif

Thank you!! I was expecting to buy online, but went into a local store just to look in person. I found that the price of the diamond was only a couple hundred more than I would have paid online, and much much less for the setting. On top of all that, they gave me full credit for my old setting and paid me $600 more for my old diamond than what I paid for it! So I obviously preferred having someone there locally to see it in person, and to inspect and do maintenance etc. I did not like any of the diamonds that I saw in person in house, so they shipped in a few for me to pick from.

I''d definitely recommend getting very familiar with the prices of diamonds & their specs online, then comparing similar ones at local stores. You may not save as much as you think by buying online, especially if the salespeople are aware you are familiar with diamonds and you''re upfront that you''ve been shopping online!

If you go with a lower color diamond, the fluor will make it face up whiter. In any case, it is vital you focus on the cut. The cut determines how much is sparkles, and will also make it face up whiter because it reflects more light

good luck searching :)

my ritani ering and wedding ring...

im not sure of the specs of the stone... but i think its around a carat, and we are going to have it appraised or graded soon.
the cut seems very shallow, so in comparison to others i see, it doesnt perform. maybe im crazy. or picky? i dont know.
i love my rings. its just that being here every day, learning so much and seeing the possibilities, i have set my sights higher.
AND HIGHER AND HIGHER

I love fluor in diamonds but I''m not sure that it they necessarily look lavender. This is my I colour pear with strong blue fluor. It looks super white in most light but in strong sunlight is a blue/white. Hope that helps and nice to meet you!

Here''s the sunlight picture. It''s not hazy at all - just a lovely blue/white!

oh yes!!!
36.gif
that is exactly what im talking about!! the blue-white that your stone makes is gorgeous! im drooling. i love your pear. i will have to get one of those someday too. what kind of setting are you planning to put that in? and also, did you buy it online? were you able to see it in person? i know you have a link to a thread with your story. please tell me more!!! and please direct me to your link. were you looking for the strong blue fluor to have it face up whiter, or for the amazing blue-white it somtimes has.
i love the way these diamonds glow under uv lights. i cant wait to be part of the club. i''m very curious to know if any of the diamonds in my rings have that glow. i need to find a black light poste haste, dont i? hee hee this is so much fun. i get SOOOO excited seeing other ps''ers diamond pics, im just thrilled, thank you so much.
i cant wait. i have to be patient tho, i must not rush into this next purchase, like i did with my first purchases. i have got to STUDY STUDY STUDY, and get expert oppinions from here. i''ll be a good ps''er.
12.gif

ps... i have never seen any with the haze, milky, oily look AT ALL in any of these blue fluores''d babies [from what i''ve read - that affects less than 2%],
I personally think that beautiful color i so love in a diamond when it is in the right light is a bonus. an extra gift in the diamond.
its like a crystal clear sparkly diamond with a magical glow. its magical to me.
PLEASE FEEL FREE to post more pics showing this feature [blue-white or lavender]. cuz i cant get enough.

so much fun...
