Hi all,
Currently pursuing a few different projects, but I’ve changed gears to celebrate my clinical fellowship and 7 years of education finally being completed!

I have read and looked at all of your posts for years. I went on WFs website to take a look at diamonds and saw there are premade rings available. Are these okay to buy or is it better to find the diamond and then the setting? I’m going to guess the latter but since it’s WF I am wondering if that would be an easier/more affordable option?

Looking for low color stones to bezel in yellow gold. I found this one on the website and really liked it:

I think that those rings would be made to accommodate whatever size diamond you choose to buy.

Ohhhh. Wow, I feel really silly!

No, no need to feel silly. I can see why you would have thought it was a ring for purchase. I think they show most of their settings with a diamond in them to give you an idea of what they would look like.
Do you have a size range you would like to be in?

.3-.8 I think. My budget is around $2,300 for the entire thing— ring and stone.

This maximizes size with a K color stone but still exceeds your budget by a bit. I personally would rather put more of my money in the diamond than in the setting but if you really want that setting you will either have to go down in size or add a bit more to your budget. Use the bank wire prices for the ring and the diamond - saves you money and wiring the money to WF is very easy to do through your bank.

That is beautiful and I definitely think doable. I’m willing to go to the end of the alphabet. I love that buttery, vintage look. Is there anywhere else I should be looking? I’m also open to old cuts.

You can check out jewels by Grace and Old World Diamonds to name a couple OEC cut diamonds and rings. I am not well versed on the old cuts but many here are and would be happy to help you!

They have a selection of oec/omc/acc stones in your price point and they also offer some affordable semi mounts. They have full rings as well. They will also fabricate a ring for you.
