So I got the ring a few weeks ago, but to prevent a snoopy gf from finding me online I didnt post anything. If you want the engagement story or video check out my thread on proposal ideas... The ring is the same as Lynn B''s and is AMAZING!!! It is seriously an orb of bling-blam!

J - boarderline what I''m comfortable with. We went and compared stones before and she didnt care about the diff in color. Most lighting it looks super white. only under yellow bulbs does it show a tint. but its soo sparkly that it still looks amazing.
SI2 - sooo eye clean. Ive spent a looong time looking at this thing and havent found any flaws.

I love "warmer" stones - I have an ideal K and like your J, it rarely to never shows any tint.

arjunajane - the color and clarity def. let me get a much larger diamond! I suggest checking out stones with eachother to guage what the girl is comfortable with. I was looking at G and higher before we went to GOG and she said that she couldnt tell the difference haha.

you are very right. Earlier this year we "upgraded" my ering to my current diamond, a 1.25 K SI1 , also from GOG (don''t you love them btw!).
Before receiving my education on PS, and when we bought my first ering, I was of the typical mis-informed school of thought that if you didn''t buy within D-H and VS minimum range then you were getting a dud. And, of course thought nothing of cut qualities.
What a difference some info makes, right? I am now of the school of thought that there''s no need to pay for what you won''t see, hence my fondness of warmer colours and SI clarity grades.

Of course, many ppl need a higher "mind clean" than I, and of course each to their own.

Again, congrats, I hope she enjoys it for many yrs to come !
