Whiteflash - advice needed

I am finally ready to pull the trigger on an upgrade but I am really conflicted about what stone to choose. There are about 6 stones in my budget (2.8 - 3 carat, I-J color, si1 or better) and not sure how to make the decision. Honestly, they all look identical (minus maybe one where I can see some feathers on the video of the stone). Any advice? I currently have an I/vs2 and it looks perfectly white so I am not too concerned about going down to a J.

I have a J and I love it! Looks icy white in most lighting, and appears only the teensiest bit warm in yellow lighting. For me, any inclusion I could see with my eye would bother me. Otherwise go as big as you can! Do you have any pictures to share?

I would link them all so people can point out differences. We can tell you which one we would choose and why.

Here are a few J/vs2 options that are very similarly priced.

And here is a J/si1 - saves probably $5 or $6k but not sure if it’s worth it?

The 3.13 looks cleaner than the other two to my eye.

What size is your current I VS2? Everyone says that you see color and inclusions more in a larger stone, so I’d be inclined to stick with I and VS2. I guess you’ve seen this one?

Appreciate that - they are all way too similar to me and I’m getting really stressed out trying to figure out which one to pick!

Yes this is the other one I was looking at - but when I look at the video, it looks just as yellow as the J, so wasn’t sure what to do!

And apologize- current stone is 1.3 carats

This is when your sales associate can help you. You can ask their opinion of the colors of the stones and you could ask for photos of the stones upside down to see the color difference. Ideally you would like to find a “high” I or J stone to get the most bang for your buck.

Appreciate the advice! I was hoping I can trust them but wanted some independent advice, too, since I am not sure how they are compensated and if there is any conflict of interest in getting me to buy the more expensive stone!

Oh no, they are great and will not pressure you to spend more than you want. They want you to be happy!

Awesome - thanks again for the advice and reassurance! Can’t wait for them to email me back! I asked them to start with a quote for the setting (link below, but in white gold) and then we can pick a stone so I make sure to stay in budget.

That’s beautiful! Keep us updated on your search. Once you narrow it down or have pictures, you can post them here to get more opinions.

I agree, I really like the 3.13 and the 2.93 surprisingly. I don't see any inclusions from the video even though it's a SI1. I have 2 SI1's, and personally I love them because the inclusions are tucked away. As long as it doesn't bother you! But it would be nice to be over that 3ct mark... for fun you know? haha

YES! Seems so silly but it would make me feel good to know it was >3 carats! There is a 3.3 carat that I was drooling over but it was over my budget so I am trying to forget about it - I am so grateful my husband agreed to an upgrade that I am not going to even hint at increasing the budget!! I’m dying to know what the setting will cost so I can narrow down the stones but I’m hoping no more than $4k

Right! I think that knowing it was >3 carats would make a big difference too! keep us updated, we're excited for you!

3.131 hands down. Wow. You found a 78 LGF. I love skinnier arrows. and it looks clean. I have never seen an ACA with 78. Now that I know they can exist, I will look out for one.

Ask your whitwflash consultant to send you comparison photos and videos. They are pretty honest with their assessment.

I don’t even know what LGF means but now I’m all excited, ha! Going to google now!
