Hello everyone,

I’m considering purchasing a diamond from Whiteflash, and I’d really appreciate your thoughts before I make the final decision. The diamond is an ACA 1.46ct F VS1, AGS 0, with a slight cloud on the cutlet (https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...-vs1-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4731596). I’ve checked the specs, and it looks great on paper, but I have a few concerns.

Since I’m ordering from Europe, returning the diamond would be difficult, and getting the VAT back can be a hassle. This makes me extra cautious about proceeding with the purchase. The cloud on the cutlet has me wondering if it could affect the diamond’s appearance or performance, especially in terms of brilliance or potential dullness.

Given this, I’m also considering whether it would be a better idea to work with a local European dealer who can provide an ASET scope for a more hands-on evaluation. I’m concerned the stone might look cloudy or less vibrant than it appears online, and I want to make sure I’m getting the best possible quality for my money.

If anyone has experience with ACA diamonds, especially one with a small cloud inclusion, I’d love to hear your thoughts on how it might impact the diamond’s visual appeal. Any advice on whether to stick with Whiteflash or look for a local option would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Gorgeous diamond, I would not be concerned about that AT ALL. I have purchased a TON of ACA diamonds from WF, they are stunning. I actually flew out there for a business trip and spent a good 3 hours there looking at diamonds. It would not be a ACA if it had ANY impact on the stone. Call them and ask them to pul the diamond for a eval if you want, my goto pro there is Brittany, been working with her for 11 years. Love the specs on the stone and it’s a ACA, you have nothing to worry about!

An ACA will have perfect cut quality and won't have transparency impacted by the cloud, so no worries there! Were you planning to have it set by Whiteflash or are you setting it locally?

In VS1 clarity there is virtually no way it can possibly affect optics. You won’t even be able to find the inclusions with a loupe. This is the safest choice you can make (and you pay for it!)

Thank you all for your quick responses. I understand that VS1 is considered a good clarity grade and, based on the diamond’s performance, that seems accurate. However, what concerns me about the ACA is this video:
, where an ACA from Whiteflash is compared to a Tiffany diamond. I realize the diamonds in the video are not perfectly clean, but typically, an ACA cut should deliver performance on par with a Tiffany diamond. In this case, the ACA looks quite disappointing and almost cloudy.

This video is not an apples to apples comparison. One diamond is larger than the other and the color of the diamonds is different. You cannot draw any conclusion from this.
The diamond you are considering is beautiful! The color and clarity will not be problematic at all. I too have owned several ACA diamonds and they are all top notch performers. You have made a great selection - just order it and enjoy!!!

Ditto @MissGotRocks They are comparing not-clean-diamonds. No conclusion can be drawn from this video except dirty diamonds
can make a diamond look cloudy.

Inclusions on the GIA report are listed in order of significance. The grade-making inclusion is a feather which is difficult to see at
10X (definition of a VS1). The cloud is listed last and is not an issue. Not an issue because the stone is a VS1, you can't see it in the
video, and it wouldn't make the A Cut Above line if it were an issue.

Seriously, this is a gorgeous Super Ideal cut stone!

Hi, brams!
You can order it as a loose diamond, inspect and scrutinize it once you receive it, then decide to either return for a refund or return for setting.
Whiteflash would be very accommodating no matter which route you choose, and you're fully protected by their amazing customer service and customer policies.
I fully believe that all of your worries and concerns will be put to rest once you are able to get your own eyes on this ACA.

This it's my go to video for hearts and arrows vs Tiffany diamonds. The ACA would be comparable to the H&A in this video. Both of the ACA's I have purchased are absolutely stunning!
