Does anyone have a RX330? My car is up in September. There is a new 2007 RX350 out which they say has more power. BUT the body looks very much the same and I bet they will be having tons deals on the RX330s. So a great deal on the 330 sounds really good to me...Does the RX330 have enough spunk? My current Granc Cherokee is a V8 (I don't know much about cars YET) and it kicks arse! That girl has got tons of pep. I can't imagine getting a car with less now...

I LOVE MY RX! Why I love my Lexus this is my thread from when I was hit by an 18 wheeler, and my car and I were both A ok!

Oh that''s right! I remember! Gotta love them! And so fabu looking too...

I''m going to test drive...but does she have a lot of pep...?

I have an RX300, but when I take my car in for service, they usually give me the 330. It''s a fantastic SUV, and I would not hesitate to buy one. I tend to keep my cars until they crap out, so it will be a while for me.

Oh yea! I love the grrr of the engine. She has a ton of pep, and still handles smoothly and quietly.

My Lexus dealer has a $429/month lease for RX 330s. They told me over this past weekend that it is a special deal because the 350s are coming out soon, so you are right on the money. I drove one when they first came out and was impressed - noticeably peppier than the 300, which I used to own - but not up to the Grand Cherokee V8, which my brother had and I drove several times. Have you looked at the Porsche Cayenne S, which I just bought, or the RX 400h, the hybrid with more horsepower than the 330 which is available now for a $499/month lease?

Try Edmunds! Personally I did not the care for Jeep becuase it was loud and did not do well getting up the hill towards our house, I think the Porsche is allright but if you like it you might prefer VW Touareg. Really though cars are so totally a personal prefrence thing sort of like diamond color.

my DH and I just bought an RX330 about a month ago for him, not knowing that the RX350 was coming out about a week later. We did get a good deal on it, because the dealer gave us a Costco discount plus a return customer discount (I drive an IS300). Maybe it was also because of the RX350 release, but they didn't say anything to us about it. DH seems to like the RX330 a lot...I like it too but don't get to drive it much

. I am more for the comfort and the quiet ride than I am the power, but it is plenty powerful I think. He said he would have bought the RX350 if he had known, but to be honest I am happy to have saved some $$$ considering the cost of these vehicles.

I thought about the VW and looked at it at the DC auto show, but my son who is a mechanic warned me against it (nuff said for a public forum

). The Jeep is more truck-like than the 330 and the Cayenne, but I''m surprised the V8 had trouble with your hill. The Cayenne drives more like a sports car, albeit a 5000 lb sports car, and I like that, but you''re right - what anyone likes to drive is a matter of personal taste.

MMM I have the larger Lexus GX430 now (my husband wanted it for the greater towing capacity), but I loved my RX330 and highly recommend it. It has plenty of power, nice cargo capacity, and terrific styling!!! I didn't realize they were coming out with a larger engine for this model.

I have a 5 year old RX300 and just love it!

What is the Costco discount? I know that Costco is a warehouse retailer, do you get a discount for being a Costco member? Why would a auto dealer give a discount for this?

HI Mat:

Wow--your story could me mine: while wating in cue to turn a corner in early Dec. a truck coming the opposite direction, pulling a BobCat (no not the furry creature
11.gif
) on a trailor turned an icy corner too fast and wiped out the car in front of me while the "Cat" ended up on the hood of my Acura.....all I saw was this front loader coming toward me and I thought I''d breatherd my last breath on this earth....but thank god for those #1 crash test ratings! My Acura required much plastic surgery, but I was AOK. I love our Honda and Acura!!

Sorry to hijack MMM''s thread.....back to regular programming...

cheers--Sharon

No worries about hijacking silly!
So glad you weren't hurt....in the blink of an eye everything changes....

I'm so glad you guys like the car...was just curious e/t I'll have to test drive...the naughty part of me wants to get the 350 but the smart side wants the 330. We shall see..

You got that right about the grand cherokee gem, it is a fast car! I can't quite adfford the Cayenne...it's like over 900 a month? right? i can't believe the 400 are'only' $499. I pay $508 for my grand cherokee...but I put nothing down, get 15,000 miles and got out of my last jeep lease early and rolled it over....

I bought a 2005 Cayenne S and saved over $20 grand, but the new ones were leasing for around $900/month with $5,000 down. The $499/month for the 400h does not include navigation or the Mark Levinson stereo; with those I was told it would be in the $600+ range, still not bad for a $50,000 vehicle. And, I''m told it really moves with the added electric motors.

Not bad at all...but probably going for the 330 or 350. I can''t wait....is it August yet???

LOL DF. You might have me confused with a tough gal :) And we know how the Hummers are great city cars LOL!!!

SanDiego....they have the certified pre-owned too....I saw a few with 6000 miles on them..and they were heavily discounted...great deals indeed...

I love my RX300! They gave me a loaner of the brand new RX330 and it rode like a dream. You can''t go wrong with Lexus!

what ever you decide on getting, make sure it''s "EYE CLEAN" no dust anywhere on the car. LOL!!!

HA! You should see my FILTHY car!

I have the rx300, but always get the 330 for a loaner and all I can saw about it is WOW! I had a hybrid this week and it had a lot of power but it started differently which will take some getting used to. Can''t go wrong with lexus. I have 55,000 miles and only take it in for routine maintenace.

We have a 04 RX330 and love it ! No problems what so ever, wife really loves the heated seats up here in NH.Two things to recomend. 1) go to Edmunds and learn how to buy a car over the internet,we did it and although we had to drive 1 1/2 hrs we saved over 2k off the best price we could find locally.2) After the intial service, find a Toyota dealer who will do the oil change/tire rotation and save $$$ (the Lexus dealer charges $175 with the Mobil 1 and that get pricey every 5k miles).

To be honest with you, we didn''t ask a lot of questions while we were there, so I have no idea. My DH did all his research online (he was considering a BMW X3 or X5, and the Lexus RX330), and by the time we got to the Lexus dealership within 5 min of test driving, he said he wanted it. I personally don''t understand how anyone can decide that quickly, but that''s what he wanted to do, so I said ok...he had actually been thinking of buying a car for years, so I couldn''t really give him too much of a hard time. Then when the salesperson said we''ll knock of $$ for Costco and $$ for return business and took almost $4K off the sticker price, DH and I looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders and said "uuuuuhhhhh, OK". Heck, he was ready to pay the whole price.

Thanks for the input peeps!

Now the issue is.... Do I pay more $ to get the RX 350... or probably get a really good deal on the discontinued 330??? The practical side of me says 330...the naughty side says 350. I''m going to test drive them both..
