Well, us Americans here on PS are always talking/gossiping about actors and actresses, models, etc. that are hot or popular right now here in the states. I am curious however, for all of you PS''ers that are in different countries, who is the hot ticket in your country?? Who is famous or popular? What are they known for? Age? Appearance? Do you like them or not?

I thought this would be pretty fun! I know of some British stars that are popular right now in the UK and Ireland, but that''s all I know besides the US. So fill us in if you are in a different part of the world!!

Let''s see. In England;

Model Kate Moss , major fashion icon. Dating Babyshambles frontman Pete Dougherty who has a drug problem. Most agree not an ideal choice for Kate and her young daughter.

Jude Law and fiancee Sienna Miller- she is known as the ultimate boho babe and is giving Kate Moss some serious competition in the style wars.

Prince William - ultimate eligible bachelor, the general view is shame about his family

Footballer David Beckham and wife Victoria - she is our answer to Elizabeth Taylor since the Spice Girls disbanded. He is quite popular due to his ability on the football field, she isn''t due to the silly faces she pulls and the way she flaunts her diamonds
14.gif
They had marital problems last year, he was accused of having an affair with his PA , Victoria has another baby afterwards. The funny thing was that while all this was tabloid fodder, the girl renowned for having the most sober expression on her face in the UK was suddenly pictured everywhere with the most silly grin on her face. What a time to start smiling, I know turn a brave face to the world, but that was pure
20.gif
The Beckhams have kept out of the papers for a while which can only be a good thing, it was getting a bit much and having her bolt on relatives everywhere.

I never know who is being discussed here when popular actors have break-ups. I have heard their names, but never seen them act and I haven't followed all the things they did. I did know who Tom Cruise was, but I had no clue about Angelina Jolie. I knew Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston and that she had been on a show called "Friends". I once saw a picture of their huge home in a magazine. I don't think I ever saw either of them act, though, so I certainly didn't follow their story. Then there was Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Had heard of her, but never seen her act. Never heard of him. And so it goes....

I know more about the "old" movie stars. Recently my mother told me that Cary Grant and Randolph Scott (who was gorgeous...I have seen him act!) were lovers for a long time. I guess I just care a lot more about actors in old movies because I have seen those movies!

I bet you enjoy '' An affair to Remember'' with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr AGBF? I can''t watch it without a big box of Kleenex WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

How could I forget new football whizzkid Wayne Rooney and girlfriend Colleen Mc Laughlin? They take up more than their fair share of newspaper pages at the moment. They are in their late teens and I think the money and Fame has gone to their heads a tad. Wayne was caught a while back visiting a house of ill repute on several occasions and Colleen is now more famous for giving his credit card a daily vengeful hammering than anything else. To placate her he sent her and her friends on a weekend shopping spree to NY , apparently she nearly bled the diamond brokers dry
11.gif
He is a great football player and it is a shame, he seems to have some growing up to do, a case of too much too fast. To be fair, the tabloids won''t give the girl a break, she is never pictured without armloads of new designer gear - she can''t shop all the time surely she has to eat and sleep

Cool! I have heard of some of these, when I was in Ireland in May the big thing was the reality show "Celebrity Love Island". I thought is was just like american reality shows: dumb, boring, and a shameful display of celebrity drama which only celebrities themselves seem to care about! But I remember that girl Rebecca something or other who confessed that she indeed had sex with David Beckham and that on a small level she was in love with him. I have seen a few pics of Victoria, she is always in a black Dolce and Gabbana outfit, totally blinged out with about a hundred carats of diamonds on, with David next to her looking very metrosexual!

I like Kate Moss, didn''t know she was dating a drug-addict!
6.gif
Wow. Yeah, if you have a kid, it is probably best you stay away from people like that.
20.gif

Jude Law, not impressed by him. I don''t get what all the hooha is here with him. Americans LOVE him! They think he is so talented and sexy. I''ll give him talented, he is a great actor. But sexy?? Naw.....
Sienna, I don''t know what to think of her yet.

Hey what about Clive Owen?! He is my British Baby!!

Ok! Thanks for some info on the UK front! Canadians? Irish? Indian? NEED MORE GOSSIP!!!

I live in the US but I''m British.

I believe that Jordan, a ridiculously proportioned glamour model, is still in the press a lot -- right, Loralei?

Many footballers (soccer players) are tabloid fodder in England. As are soap stars. And good old Charlotte Church, the former "Voice of an Angel", who now enjoys a good p***-up and falling out of nightclubs at every opportunity.

. Oh yeah, and Jude Law too. I saw him standing on the street one evening with a couple of friends. All I can say is WOW! He is a vision.

6.gif
Charlotte Church went bad-girl??!!
6.gif
Wow! Isn''t she like 17? I guess I shouldn''t be surprised, look at Lindsay Lohan and all the teens here in the states going bad and wacko! ugh....

That Jordan is unreal! Ha, literally! Didn''t she have a kid? I saw her in Playboy a few years back, she''s like the equivelant of Pam Anderson, only I think Jordan may actually be sluttier!!

Right on both counts UW! Jordan
14.gif
is now living with Aussie one hit wonder Peter Andre
14.gif
14.gif
and they have just had a son that they have named Junior!!
33.gif
Charlotte Church is often in the gossip section of the good old Daily Mirror crawling along pavements at 3 in the morning
20.gif
It is such a shame, I hope she gets her act together soon. I think she has ruined forever her "good girl" image, but maybe it was intentional.

I quite agree Irish Eyes, Jordan is gross and is a legend in her own mind, quite the 4th rate celebrity - honestly she would go to the opening of an envelope

Some people can''t take the hint

You saw Jude law??? You lucky thing

Well at least she didn''t name him Apple!! Is that a uni-sex name? I don''t know... Celebs here in the states take drugs I think when they get pregnant, because they end up naming their kids some cracked-out name. Courtney Cox has Coco. Gwenth has Apple. There''s many more but I can''t remember them all. I read somewhere that Shannon Sassamon (sp?) the girl from "A Knight''s Tale" (I think that''s the name) with Heath Ledger had a kid last year and named him AUDIO SCIENCE!!!!
33.gif
38.gif
I don''t think she''s American. Either way, WHY would you do that to your child??!! Do you not like him? Are you trying to make him get his a** kicked everyday at school?!
14.gif

I was amazed that Gwyneth chose Apple of all the names she could have chosen. What is wrong with normal names? It must make it hard for the child, the last thing they want to be in school is different unless their peers are named Moon Unit, Fairy Blossom or Kittie Tiddles
33.gif
Maybe we will see some Johns and Marys soon when this craze stops but I doubt it
20.gif

OMG I am crying over here!! That Moon Unit and Kittie Tiddles is f-ing hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hee Hee I aim to please Irish Eyes!

Hey I just remembered, I fell over Rock Hudson years ago!!!! True honestly!!!

Morticia, who else have you seen?? I have NEVER met a celeb

Penn''s (from Penn and Teller) wife just had a baby girl.
They named her Moxie CrimeFighter Jilette. Believe it. I have gotten some flack over my daughter''s name (Ripley)...but at least it''s a name!

As far as famous people go:

I almost knocked over David Hasselhoff on the set of Baywatch. I walked into Gucci on Rodeo Drive just as Mike Tyson was coming out (the night before he bit off the ear). I have met Wayne Gretzky a kazillion times and Pam Anderson once (they''re from here). That''s about it....not great. Pam Anderson was a million times better looking before Hollywood got ahold of her. She used to be gorgeous.

Moxie CRIMEFIGHTER?! are you serious?!
6.gif
Geez. I''ll laugh if she turns out to be wimpy

Moxie Crimefighter Jilette?

Sounds like a new type of razor

IrishEyes, only b/c I live and work in Manhattan. I've seen in passing or when I used to wait tables long a go. I would never go up to anyone or gawk at them. (Even though, with some of them, I was dying when I saw them.)

-Gywneth Paltrow
-James Earl Jones (He held the door open for me once and I didn't realize who it was until I thanked him and looked up once I heard "You're welcome!" in that deep recognizable Darth Vadar voice
9.gif
.)
-Sean Penn (Passed him on the street once, he looked miserable)
-Goldie Hawn
-Jude Law - Ahhhhhh!
30.gif

-Dan Ackroyd (He used to come into the restaurant I worked out all the time. Wow. Nice guy but he is out there.)
-Adam Sandler (Rollerblading!)
-Derek Jeter
30.gif
(I've waited on him. He also used to come into a restaurant I worked at all the time. SO CUTE and SO VERY NICE. I love him.
30.gif
)
-Whoopi Goldberg
-Jesse Martin (Law and Order guy. What a cutie.)
-Andrew McCarthey (St. Elmo's Fire and Pretty In Pink guy) - I bumped right into him at a sushi place several months a go. Oops! Later on in the night, I looked over and he was in some intense conversation with some woman, crying!
6.gif

I'm sure more but can't remember. Those were the big ones for me....

Live in Atlanta was having dinner at Garrisons - Perimeter Mall location, when Usher came in and was quickly taken to his table

Traveled to LA and went to the Malibu Arts Festival and saw Dick Van Dyke, Loretta Swit and the guy who played the husband on the TV Show "Rhoda"

Saw the guy that was "Joe Millionaire" walking along Venice Beach

Traveled to NYC and passed Robert DeNiro walking in Little Italy and he said "hello"!

Haha, whoever turned us onto Gawker Stalker yesterday...priceless site!!!! Greg and I both were laughing at some of that stuff.

My fave is thesuperficial.com for all the latest juicy tacky gossip. I''m hooked, I know, classy!!!

Victoria Beckham...that girl is soooo thin. I saw a photo of her in US Weekly like 2 weeks ago, it said ''baby three weeks ago and she already looks like this''....with her looking twiglike again, that girl has NO HIPS...I have no idea how she actually births her children! Rumors a year or two ago that she had anorexia or something....who knows.

Was it the restaurant near the corner of 3rd & 65th because I literally bumped into him twice there? Or maybe he just eats out a lot. The restaurant is no longer there & I can''t for the life of me remember the name.

You get rather ho hum with celebs after a while. I run into them quite a bit w/ my "job". Though, I would get a piter pater from Derek Jeter - Man, that smile w/ the look of such innocence makes me melt!

I do have a funny story about Tom Cruise and my husband - leading to one of the reasons why I never liked the guy. Hubby was walking near Rock Center. He''s just walking along the street and out of building comes this guy full speed. The guy literally knocks into my husband. Didn''t say excuse me, gave him this disgusting look & his handlers shoo my husband away. The guy was non other than wacko bride buying Tom Cruise. All my husband could think was "Geez, the guy bumps into ME and he''s pissed?"

Fire&Ice, the restaurant was somewhat near 65th and 3rd. It was on 77th and 3rd. I think Dan Ackroyd and his wife live in the area. They came in ALL the time for lunch. Very nice couple but Dan was a little out there but still. So nice.

And let me tell you, my heart pounded whenever I had to speak to Derek Jeter. I must of looked like a total fool. He's just so adorable. Those eyes and that smile. So nice and polite to everyone too.
30.gif

I'm pretty lukewarm about seeing most people. In my mind, it's like "Oh look, there's so and so....". I don't really react to it.

Why am I not surprised about your story with Wacko Cruise?
20.gif
What a jerk.

OH MY GOD YOU SAW USHER?!!!!!?!!??!?

I would just die. He is third in line for my love (only daughter and DF come in ahead). I could never have said anything...I would have been like lbklklkkk#%^%#%? Duh>..............

Mara: I will happily take credit for the Gawker.com tip!!

It's great entertainment. Every week I am waiting to see who has been spotted.

Sienna Miller''s gorgeous! I don''t understand Jude Law''s appeal either. I chalk it up to being male and not knowing what a cute male looks like. But he looks real funny looking to me. But hey, he''s rich and a celebrity. Sienna Miller''s a minor celebrity here so I can see why she''d clamp onto him.

It''s real interesting to see how little known some of the huge US celebrities are in other parts of the world.
