Which vendors are you most excited about? Plan to look for a specific item while you're there?

I'm excited to see EVERYTHING (It's my first gem show!) and plan to look for better storage for my gems and jewelry.

FYI - for folks planning to go the big Intergem show at Dulles/Chantilly, you get two FREE passes if you donate a coat. Free admission while doing a good deed? Yes, please!

Sigh... the April one in Dallas is while I'm on my honeymoon. The Houston one is the weekend of my wedding. The Fort Worth one in February is my bachelorette weekend, and anyway it doesn't have any vendors I'm interested in. I MAY be able to go to the Austin one April 12-14 but as that's the weekend before my wedding, probably not, and idk if it's worth it for just Vance Gems. So, realistically, I won't be headed to Intergem again until October. Lame.

Distracts - well, I'd say those are some pretty good reasons for missing the shows.

And congrats on your upcoming wedding! Spring weddings are so lovely. May I ask where you're honeymooning?

We haven't 100% decided yet, but probably Scotland! I wanted to go to Ireland, and the fiance wanted to go to the Caribbean, but he was swayed to Scotland by the promise of visiting Scotch distilleries. lol. We're supposedly deciding for sure and booking within the next week... I've picked out our hotels and itinerary and everything already for Scotland.

Oooh, very nice! Maybe you could just work your way over then do a little hop from Scotland to Ireland.... ;))

I'll probably go to the one in May in Marlborough MA. Right now I'm not looking for anything in particular but I usually end up finding something anyhow.

I'm really really hoping to make it to the one in Chantilly. I'm mostly interested in some vintage jewelry, but i'll stop by Prima Gems if they're there. I think I saw them on the list of vendors. Soooo excited

Distracts: Scotland sounds so awesome for a honeymoon! I hope you go and love it! And congrats!

I will try to make the St. Paul show at the beginning of June again this year. Vance Gems is my favorite vendor. Last year I picked out a pretty magenta star sapphire that is now one of my favorite rings. :appl:

Ooooh any pics to share? Sounds lovely!

I'm also going to try to make the St. Paul show. I live in Des Moines, so it's about a 4 hour drive away. Still, I could make a nice weekend of it, eating at some of my favorite places up there and gem-shopping. Sounds heavenly!

Wanted to update this thread with my Intergem finds!

-Spent 3-4 hours at the Chantilly show -- Visited Primagems but also saw another booth (I think it was called FGS Gems?) that had some nice stones. Did not purchase any new gemstones, as my husband was with me, lol.

-Ended up purchasing just 3 things:
1) LED/UV loupe from GemOro (I really like the loupe! Have had so much fun louping diamond settings to catch those one or two stones w/ fluoro!!)
2) setting for my tourmaline (This was a gift from my husband; pics below!)
3) a soft pretzel, lol

Tourmaline ring:

Not with precious stones, but crystals. Salt crystals.
