Why Are Men So Clueless?

I moved into an apartment about two weeks ago, and FF stayed over for the first time on Saturday. A day or so later, he says, "I almost proposed to you this weekend." AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! He''s lucky it was over the phone, because otherwise I might have thrown something at him. I knew I wanted to marry him after about six months of dating, and after a year and a half of waiting, I feel like I''m going to burst! We went to look at promise rings yesterday, and when we came back, he made a comment about how looking at rings with me made him excited about getting engaged. I know these little comments are supposed to be cute, but I just want to grab him and scream, "THEN JUST DO IT ALREADY!" I guess I''m a little edgy because he kept saying that he wanted to get engaged before the end of this school year, but now he wants to propose over the summer. Like I said, I''ve been wanting to get engaged for a year and a half, and thinking about waiting another eight or ten months just makes me feel like my head is going to explode.

I am not always a crazy LIW. Lately I''ve just started to feel like I can''t wait any longer. I thought about proposing to him. Seriously. I mentioned to him that I might propose, and his response was, "I might say yes." BAH! Why does he torture me!?

Ha! I love this idea! I want a foam bat, BF needs it...

I don''t know WHY men think they are being cute when the truth is that they are driving us up a freaking wall! I am right there with you NMB, except I am definitely NOT allowed anywhere near a jewelry store with him! He wants it to be a surprise....bah!

Hang in there, we are all in the same boat, so to speak.

Oh, I know your pain! I''m "more than welcome" to look by myself, or with friends, but FF will not go within 10'' of a jewelery store with me, lol. Darn men, and their darn stipulations!

Definitely invest in those foam bats, though, NMB.. someone needs to knock some sense into him, lol.
In fact, I may have to look into them for myself..

well my FF doesn''t even speak most of time (he''s very quiet) so I gues that''s the only reason why I don''t need a foam bat!

But after a lack of communication due to his ''quiet spells'' lol

he finally gave me a timeline and agreed to the ring that I wanted!

But you''re right, if my quiet FF told me something like that I''d probably have to invest in that bat!

I would like to add an anecdote that brings my SO''s incredibly frustrating ''keeping me on my toes'' behavior.

After my cousin came home from school one day crying, I asked what was wrong and she told me that a boy pushed her in line during recess and it hurt her feelings that he was so mean to her. I then proceeded to pass on the wisdom that my sister told me about how sometimes boys push to show they like a girl. She gave me this exasperated look and then said "Meggie, I don''t get how you live with one, boys are as dumb as tree stumps!" and then marched away. She was only 6 at the time, but I have to say I was in tears from laughter.

I guess what I am saying is that boys and girls, men and women as so different, 20 some odd years into life and I am still learning that lesson...but I do love him, frustrations in all...although if he wants to steer clear of a foam bat beating, he should probably get a going on taking me off the waiting list...

So glad that I am not the only LIW out there...
