Why are Radiant Cuts...

called Cut-Cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliants on so many GIA certs? Is there such a thing as *only* a Radiant Brilliant? I know they have Cushion Modified & Cushion Brilliant....

Gia will not use trademark or trade dress names on reports for cut names for legal reasons.
Radiant was a trade mark I believe at the time it was first sent for grading.

I see....so the only name that will show up for a Radiant Cut on a GIA cert is "Cut-Cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant"?

I think they do use another name for variants of the radiant cut maybe even 2 but they excape me at this time.
