I bought a Tiffany Jazz Band today in size 5...it fits really well. But my wedding ring that also fits is a 5.5. Another 5.5 I have from Blue Nile is quite loose. And when I measure with the paper sizing system, I come out to be a 7 (I made sure that the measurements on the paper matched a ruler). Does anyone know why this would be? I''m ordering a custom ring from Whiteflash and I''m very frustrated at not knowing my real size. Any response would be appreciated!

Finger sizes vary due to fingers swelling in the hot, shrinking in the cold, your body retaining water, any weight fluctuations, time of the month in your cycle, time of day, etc.

Ring sizes tend to vary depending on how wide or thin the ring is. Also, not all ring sizers are created equally, just like clothing sizes and shoe sizes.

Now that I''m reading this I hope I explained it properly because it''s actually your finger''s fault.

If you wear a size 6 in a 2mm wide band you may well wear a size 6.5 in a 6mm band. A lot of online places tell you to make sure your size is correct based on how wide a ring you plan on wearing.

Im always curious about ring sizes as well (because the rings I do have are too big) Not sure of my actual size and I had planed on getting my finger sized next time Im at Tiffany's (so I know the actual size.) Maybe I'll have them size it according to my dream ring.

Oh, and I guess when you have 2 rings on one finger, they are sometimes different sizes because when you put them together, it gets tighter. So I guess the mm size difference in rings would make sense. lol

I love the Tiffany Jazz ring. I''d love to see some photos!

The are so many reasons. As was stated above already...Hot weather will made fingers and wrists swell, and cold does the oppisite and also what you eat...swelling is created from salt intake like soda and chips or soup(each has alot of salt)the thickness of the ring will fit differant on the finger and also the sizing mandrals that jewelers use to size a ring are not all the exact same size.so when one mandral might say a size 6 will be a 6 plus on another. Also medication and long periods of standing will affect how a ring fits.

My right hand ring size is 1/2 size smaller than the left.

I own 2 channel set eternity rings, each approx 3mm wide. I couldn''t wear them both together on the same finger until I had one of them sized up by a 1/2 size. The 1st one would fit fine, but the second one would hit the fleshier part of my finger and it was too tight.

I''ve found that Tiffany''s rings are on the smaller size. My usual ring size is 5 but I can barely get a 5 on at Tiffany. Also, the ring size canl fluctuate during the day. My fingers are slimmer in the morning than evening. If you''re thinking about ordering from WF, you can always send them a ring that fits you perfectly so they duplicate the size.

I found this as well about Tiffany rings. My Leon is a 5 3/4 and is just loose enough (Leon wanted me to get a 5 1/2). I just bought my Tiffany ring and it is a 6 and fits just right. For reference, the Leon is 1.8mm and the Tiffany band is 2.0mm...so not really a difference.

I know if a band is thicker I need to go up as it squishes my skin to the point I need more space in the ring.
