My wife has a 1.25ct solitare and a pair of 1.00ct earings. She never wear does housework or take a shower with her rings. I soak them in jewelry cleaner once a week and then wipe them clean with lint-free tissue. When I loupe them, they look clean.

My mother wears her earings for months and clean them twice a year. Now that require ultrasonic cleaning.

My question is: why do I need an ultrasonic cleaner if my wife takes it off as soon as she gets home?

I am looking at this:

I already have the jewejet. Do I need a Ultrasonic cleaner?

it really takes a 70x magnification to see the stuff on your diamond!! try a camera with macro. hehee.

after seeing how dirty my stone was after i thought it was clean, i US my stuff daily. if i have to clean it by hand, i know it's not clean...it just 'looks clean'.

you don't NEED an ultrasonic...just like you don't NEED a diamond. hee hee. but if you've got one, don't you want it to look it's best? but i would only get it if she will actually use it.

i have the sharper image and love it....it's easy to use, i just heat up water in the micro, add some ammonia, and let it go for a cycle. done!

i can see the crud left on with a 10x loupe when I use the jar of jewelry cleaner.

....must ultrasonic.....
