Wide leg trousers have to be like all other trends in trousers-- you should only do it if you find a pair which looks flattering on you IMO. If you''re doing it to chase a trend (rather than looking kick-ass in the pair you find), then there''s something to be said for not investing too much money.Date: 9/7/2007 12:32:01 PM

i like the wide leg look with a more structred or heavier fabric, like wool or tweed, a slightler straighter leg with less of a swoop than the one you have pictured, and a cuffed bottom is preferred over non-cuffed. i also like detailing like pockets/buttons to help ground the wider leg.
personally, i''m not crazy about the pic...but it may be that the model is wearing it at a very strange length! i like the length to be on the slouchy side. and the material looks flimsy, but it may be due to the length issue. not my preference, but i''d need to see it on you before i really say.
super cute sweater though!!!
Hee hee, the pink stitching is so well done, and it''s topstitching right down the outside seam of the pant and it''s a pale enough pink that you really would have to look for it, or be wearing the pants to notice. But it''s nice detailing and I actually got them from the Gap a couple years ago. I just love that they are lined, wool bothers my skin a bit because I get so dry in the winter, so to have a little layer of cheap ol'' acetate in between is great. I do love the color combo, though, pink and khaki/camel are one of my favorites. I''m thinking I got those on sale and didn''t pay more than $40 for them, which is great for a classic trouser with a twist that I will have for at least a couple more years! Plus the inseam just happened to work for me which is rarely the case since I''m tall! It was just one of those lucky finds on a random shopping day and I got lucky.Date: 9/8/2007 8:04:04 PM

Monnie, I love the sound of your camel ones. I bet they are so cute on with that pink. Be still my heart.
