Will brilliant (full cut) round I2 clarity I color 1 pointers sparkle at all in huggie hoop earrings?

I've seen some good deals on huggie hoop earrings at low cost places like ross-simmons and Blue Nile with I2 clarity and I was wondering if it was worth the cost to buy a pair of Huggies hoops to go alongside some high quality triple excellent 1 tcw studs that I have? The studs are fantastically well-cut eye-clean SI1 stones in 14k white gold. There is a pair of cute 14 karat rose gold huggie earrings with a total carat weight of 0.25 (ten 1 point diamonds in each hoop) at Ross Simmons I was looking at it only cost $400 due to an early Black Friday sale. As I mentioned, these are I2 clarity I color brilliant (full cut, NOT single cut) round one pointers. Do you think the pair would look good together? Or would the hoops be so dull and lifeless that it wouldn't be worth it even for that very low price?

I would not wear I2 diamonds with iffy cut, especially next to well cut studs.

I’d be wary.

How about these in rose gold? For a bit more tho….

Plenty of people here have items from her. And sometimes do put them next to their own fantastically well cut stones. VS-SI but better than the I2 stones than you are considering. Some of her listings (like the micro eternity band) have some very accurate stone clarity pictures.

You're right. Whatever miniscule amount of sparkle those tiny little melee hoop earring diamonds have would be completely overshadowed by the ideal cut straight-up disco ball diamond studs. ‍

Instead of getting Huggie hoops with shoddy melee diamonds I'm just gonna get a nice pair of thick plain 14k rose gold huggie hoops as a Valentine's Day gift (so first the nice studs for Christmas, THEN the 14k rose gold Huggies for V-day). My girlfriend's two favorite metals are 14k white gold and rose gold (well, she also loves platinum, but that shiz is sooooo pricey). So i know she'll be thrilled---- and the studs and the plain Huggies will pair together nicely.

Anyway , thanks again for talking me off the ledge on those cheap (but woefully mediocre) melee-scattered hoops, guys.

Costco has great diamonds for the price. Check out their Black Friday sales and the Costco diamonds thread.

Ditto on the costco hoops...many Pricescopers have bought from Costco and have been happy with their pieces. There is a thread
here you can take a look through.

I would not. Low quality melee is not worth the savings for me. I want tiny diamonds to sparkle as much as possible and nowadays will splurge for single cuts.

No.
1 poInt diamonds with I2 clarity are worth less than it cost to set them. A chip of glass is likely to have more sparkle.

Thank you so much for the info AND link!!! I went to Costco earlier today and snagged a pair of the yellow gold hoops with 16 shiny lil' I color VS2 clarity diamonds totaling 0.35 carats.... and I LOVE 'em!!! these suckers are so pretty. And the sparkle is actually fantastic! They look perfect next to those half carat each eye-clean (amazingly well-cut) J/SI1 RBC studs. A lot of people on the Costco review thread were whining about these puppies being too little, but I think they are actually the perfect size for 2nd hole earrings (and they would even look good in the first hole with 4mm to 5mm colored gemstone accent earrings). Each hoop is 15mm in length and 2mm wide, so definitely not microscopic at all. And under kitchen or bathroom fluorescent lighting in particular they are remarkably sparkly and bright. And what a great price! Only $537 after taxes. I seriously had no idea Costco had such nice little diamonds! I also noticed they had a pair of 1 tcw RBC studs in 14 karat white gold for like $1,250 with eye color and the S2 clarity. That might be as cheap--- or possibly cheaper--- than Blue Nile!

I'm still way too picky about larger sized diamonds to settle for Costco for anything at the half carat mark or over, but I am LOVING their tiny diamonds VERY much. oh, and these puppies are going to stack beautifully with the solid 14k rose gold hoops I bought online earlier (the rose gold hoops are 1 mm longer and 1 mm wider, so wearing them side by side will create a nice contrast, and I'll probably get a 14 karat white gold pair of solid hoops for my girlfriend's 3rd ear hole to create an awesome "multi-tone" gold look).

Thanks, tyty!

Single cuts? I thought single cuts were bad for tiny diamonds? I thought only full cut tiny diamonds had the best sparkle?

Single cuts have fewer facets so are more likely for the sparkle to be perceived as distinct pinpoints of light. Full cuts are likely to just blend into bright, no scintillation in smaller sizes.

I guess I completely misunderstood the online stuff I read about the pros and cons of full brilliant cuts versus single cuts when it comes to very small stones. Since these are two pointers (eight 2 pointers in each hoop) I figured a full brilliant cut would make 'em more sparkly than a single cut.

So glad you like them! Costco has awesome diamonds!

I prefer chunkier light play so single cuts are where it's at for me. The melee in my ring (avatar) are all single cut.
