Will these sapphires be nice?

Hi,
I posted a while ago about replacing some sapphires in a set of earrings and some of you kindly gave me some recommendations. I've been debating my budget and priorities and decided I'd rather have a decent pair now than blow the budget and put other projects on hold. I have contacted a vendor who has suggested these sapphires for my pear halo drop earrings.

Apparently they are rich medium blue, eye clean, 1 or 2 minor inclusions at x 10 magnification but nothing that will impact brilliance, heat only. They need to be recut for size and will then be precision cut for brilliance. Currently 2.77tcw and priced at $1900.

I like the colour and has been told they won't darken too much is a dangling halo setting. So, before I pull the trigger - do they look good? Anything I should be asking or thinking about?

Thanks so much in advance! :-)

If you love this color, you should be ok. Darkening (or not) can depend on how the stone is set. You should still get sparkly stones though, the cut looks to be quite good. Many times a pear concentrates color at the tip which can be dark in this case, so make sure you're ok with this too.

Do they have a report available that states heat only? Considering some of the treatments out there known color lab that states heat only, or, at least some kind of deal that if you took on getting the report, that if they didn't come back as described, you'd get a full refund. Verify the terms of sale for sure.

All sapphires change depending on the light source. So make sure you've seen these in your own environment and various lighting situations so you know you're going to be ok with how they look.

Have you seen more than the one photo? I ask because if lots of light is focused on the stones they look lighter in photos than when you get them in your hand. You may need to ask for more photos.

They look nice in this photo though!!

Thanks for the replies.
Arcadian, I do like the colour, it's not my absolute ideal but for the price I want to spend I think they will look classy and beautiful so I think I'm happy with that. They have to be recut for size so the cut will improve further as they are not precision cut now. The setting is an open basket so hopefully that will let light in too.

They get sent to an independent gemologist for a report and appraisal and I have been offered a full refund if I don't like them once received. I see what you mean about the colour concentrating at the tips, I think that will be the case a little with these but I'm not too bothered about that I don't think - thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have thought about it.

Stone Hunter, I have had 3 x videos of these stones, one under LED light, one under natural daylight and one under overcast day light, they look slightly different in all the videos but still good. I'm happy to post them here if I am allowed (I haven't asked permission from the vendor).

I think through writing this post I've decided they are perfect for me and this project. Doesn't look like I have overlooked anything important as per your replies which gives me confidence. Very excited now!
