with the economy so-so, are you planning to do more traveling in the USA than abroad?

this article and planning our honeymoon got me thinking about this :

Visitors to S.F. in 2007 set record for spending

just curious if those who live in the US are changing their travels plans and doing less travel out of the US and more within. and if so to where are you planning to travel in the US?

and for those who live outside the US, are you planning more trips to the USA? and to where?

i know that if money were no object we''d probably go to italy but with the weak dollar, it is something we have to really think twice about.

Well, the travel we are doing is in the US, but we''re also cutting WAY back on travel. We used to go go go anytime we could scrounge up a 3 day weekend, but now we''ve decided to stay close to home as much as possible. I don''t think we''ve seen the worst of it yet and I don''t want to fritter away what we have when we don''t need to. I''m a little bit sad about that, but travel has become such a hassle right now anyway that I''m just really not in the mood to deal with it.

that''s what i''m afraid of too. a relative who works in the financial industry says that we are going to be in a slump for at least 10 years

. and i do remember the bad real estate market of the early 90s in the bay area

yeah with all of the hassle to travel these days, i''m reluctant to get on a plane and try to avoid it when i can.

I would say yes for sure. I was planning on going to Europe this spring, and at least had the idea for almost 2 years. My job is secure, but my BF''s company is going through some changes and he was concerned about the expense. So we went to Flordia instead. I am still hoping to go in the next year or two I really want the experience. During the fall (in 2007) we went to SF for a "less expensive" vacation.

Definitely. Two years ago we said Summer 2008 we were going to Spain for two weeks. Put it this way, we just booked with BF''s miles, only its not to Europe.

But who doesn''t love Cali?
