It wasn''t even her first pregnancy, and that one she delivered at home in the bathroom!

I guess I can''t edit the title to say "gave" birth rather than gabe birth?? lol

too weird..

I don''t want to sound mean but was she really overweight to begin with?
I just don''t see how anyone can not notice a bulge growing in their abdomen??

Interesting, I knew a girl in college and I thought the same thing. She thought she had a ruptured appendix. Turns out she was in labor. Had a baby girl. She didnt know she was pregnant, was tall and slender. She smoked, drank, and partied the entire pregnancy. SHe didn''t know she was preggers because she always had irregular periods and spotted the entire time she was pregnant. The 12 pounds she gained in her abdomen she attributed to a beer gut.

She was most likely in denial about the whole ordeal... and FORTUNATELY her daughter is healthy and OK. I know that was my FIRST QUESTION. No she was not a friend of mine, just a girl in my same major with a few same classes.

That's just crazy to me. We had a dog groomer who filled in for our regular groomer once who had a baby and also had no idea she had been pregnant. She was however heavily overweight. But still.....how do you not know?

SOOOOOOO disturbing. One of my bf''s works in a childrens'' hospital and she told me about a 12 year-old whose mom brought her in because she was in extreme abdominal pain...yup, she was in labor!

This lady had actually been preggo before, though!

Wow! I''d read about stories like that before. I just can''t imagine how much shock you would be in thinking you were passing a kidney stone to realising you are going to have a newborn to look after.

This is insane to me, too. I mean- the kid is kicking you in there! You can''t carry a baby for that long and not have your belly grow!

These stories are always so very odd to me...it seems like it should be a huge wakeup call about not having a clue what is going on with your body/health...

I''ve read about stories like these, where women say they didn''t know they were pregnant because they didn''t have morning sickness, kicking from the womb, or a missed period. I just can''t imagine going through a pregnancy without knowing it! I once saw on TV a woman didn''t know she was pregnant with TWINS!

What I don''t get is why they didn''t check to see if she was pregnant before the X-Ray? Everytime I have been in with a kidney stone (6 and counting), they always do a bloodtest, even if I tell them I am sure I am not.

There is a show on Discovery Channel called ''I didn''t Know I was pregnant". FI and I watched it and I was fascinated! They rerun it from time to time, but I agree, you would have to have NO CLUE about your body to not know you are pregnant!!!

For me to not know I was pregnant, I''d have had to be in some serious denial..my kids did the hippie hippie shake in there from about 17 weeks on. Even if the baby didn''t move very much..some of those sensations, especially as they get bigger, even if you felt it seldom, you''d have to kinda wonder-what is that?

I remember when my college roommate got a call from her best friend from home that the friend''s 17-year-old sister had just gone to the hospital complaining of terrible cramps and - SURPRISE! - given birth. The whole family was in shock. Apparently she was tiny and no one had any clue. The baby was even a relatively healthy weight, if I recall. Can you imagine that happening to someone in highschool and having to go back and face the gossip?!

Did she think the baby moving around was indigestion? Gas?

You do have to wonder how anyone can be that disengaged from their own ''reality'' to not know . . or at least suspect . . . they are pregnant!

I missed 3 cycles this summer, and even though I''m of ''that age'', I wasn''t about to ignore such an obvious harbinger of impending motherhood.

these stories drive me crazy! as a current pregnant lady (34 weeks) I just have to ask... how could you NOT know? what the hell do you think is kicking and punching you and giving you heartburn and insomnia and morning sickness. So weird.

Um, yeah...too weird.

Hahaha I know it! There were so many times I was kicked hard enough my whole body would move. I can''t imagine a pregnancy where NOTHING in your body changed-no irregular sleep, peeing a bit when you laughed/sneezed/coughed, peeing 900 times a day, cravings, mood swings, nesting, no kicking, no oddly sized stomach, belly button poking out, that dark line down the middle of your belly, crazy dreams (crazier than usual), insane tiredness, dizziness, trouble breathing, the list goes on and on..I recall numerous times, husband and I lifting my shirt to watch my tummy undulate-it was like watching Aliens.
