Since I am still on the hunt for my sapphire, with no sign of that being over any time soon. I thought, what if I'm getting this wrong because I've no one to really help me see this as a whole peice. So if I show you guys what sort of setting and look I want.. maybe you can help me move this project along. At this point I'm open to any gemstones that fit colour/cut/clarity/size (blue greens, round, eye clean or better and around the 7mm mark, no less than 6 mm.)

Basically here is what I'm aiming for. I want the gemstone to look like it's being cradled by a wave. I want the ering to look soft and the band that fits around it sharp, like the first few pix. The metal will be white (not sure what I'll use yet, may end up being budget dependant) I do not much care fore diamonds so open to anything that compliments the main stone for the band. I really love the idea of greens and blues but struggling to visualise what to use or how it will all work together. The final pic is an eternity band of graduating emeralds to sapphires that I love that gives me a bit of inspiration colour wise.

It feels like I've been hovering here for ages.. searching for my stone. . I'm learning so much and love seeing everyone else's projects, you all have a great eye and design taste. Help me sort this in my mind. I can't put it all in place. I have recently found a jeweller near me who specialises in coloured stones. They are happy to work with me to do this project, but I get easily caught up in the moment and want to really know what I'm wanting before I met with him incase I get easily swayed and end up with something not quite right.

So here's the general idea.. I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you'd change or consider if it were your own and if you have any suggestions on stones you think suit.

Rounds are best, followed by any shapes with rounded corners (oval, pear, cushion or even a trilliant). As always, I find it easier to get the stone first, with as little shape limitation as possible. Ring designs can always be altered to fit around the stone shape.

It's not the best cut and a bit big but if interested, I will post the link.

OP - I very recently bought a Montana sapphire round from MasterCutGems - 1.83ct, 6.7mm round - I think it is the same one in the pic you posted above - I am actually returning it to Dana - it is a gorgeous stone, beautifully cut and a lovely Levi denim blue color to my eyes - not sure if Dana already has a waiting list for this stone but thought I'd let you know so you can contact him about it if you're interested.

Marymm- have you already sent back? I'd love to see any pictures you took yourself. I'll contact him. Though maybe you'd consider selling to me direct? Why are you returning it ..If you don't mind me asking?

I am shipping it tomorrow morning and it is already all packaged up for return to Dana. And I did not take any pics - sorry! But I do think this is one instance where Dana's pics really do show what I see in real life. I am returning it only because color-wise I am looking for more teal/turquoise as opposed to the classic Montana denim blue (though this is one of the prettier/livelier Montanas I've seen in person). And, sorry again, due to insurance limitations, I don't feel comfortable internationally-shipping items valued at over $150 (you are in the UK, right?), so it is probably best that you contact Dana if you're interested.
