Worth it to get a minuscule blue Diamond appraised/cert’d?

Hi! I just bought this gorgeous antique OEC engagement ring in its original setting, which has one tiny little natural blue gray diamond. The sales associate pointed it out to me, and sure enough, it looks pretty blue gray. It’s super, super tiny – may be a couple of points, but the color is eye visible (without a loupe/magnification). Would you bother to have it certified and appraised? I certainly did not buy this for any kind of resale intention or investment value, so I’m mainly just curious.

Your ring sounds lovely! I hope you'll share pix. In this case, I would not feel the need to have the stone certified. (Keep in mind, it may need to be removed from the mounting.) If you want to use a diamond tester on it, that may satisfy you. Also, if the color is subtle and has some gray tones, it's highly likely that it's an Argyle (as that mine is know for the grayish-blues). Treated blue diamonds, in my experience, are much more saturated and veer towards the teal shades. Enjoy your new pretty!!

Here are two pics - I wish I could capture the side Diamond color. I think it’s probably not worth the hassle to me to get it confirmed, I’ll just enjoy for now 1641939C-CA2C-45F9-9079-A9064CEC3DE8.jpeg

Oh it's gorgeous! So is the blue diamond set as a "secret stone?"

@Autumn in New England - its one of the microscopic side stones. There are four on each side. Another one of the side diamonds is a pretty brown-ish pink. The piece is gorgeous - its a really pretty and delicate look IRL. I've always been such a CS gal that I'm shocked to find myself buying a classic 1ct diamond solitaire, but I guess the classics are a classic for a reason.

Ahh I see! So the FCDs are sort of mixed in amongst the others. It really is beautiful... enjoy!!
