...if I had BGD make me ear charms that were similar to my sapphire/diamond eternity band? Going on the assumption that you all will say ''no, that wouldn''t be bad of you at all'', I ordered a pair of 4mm sapphires from Simply Sapphires.

Haha, I bet they''ll look awesome!

No way! DO IT!!!! (Glad you already did! Well, started the process anyway...)

Will the ear charms have a loop that goes over diamond hoop earrings? Or over plain yellow gold hoops? Please share the details.

I like your style - very proactive.

Stone Hunter: They''re going to go on my channel set diamond earrings. These earrings:

And here is the vendor pic of the sapphires. I bought 2 out of this lot.

Hey, if you bought 2 of those sapphires, that still leaves 3 more pairs for the rest of us!

I love your charms idea!

Very cool that's what I was thinking. Now tell me the details about how you set those charms. Are the hoops standard or were they made to go with charms? Where do you get the settings for the gemstones from? Yes I want to eventually copy you!

ETA: oh and have you tried those garnets with pearl studs??

They will be lovely!!!

I have 3 sets of charms. 2 used to be post earrings and for those I had the jeweler remove the post and solder on a jump ring. I think the above earrings were made the same way only the jeweler put the jump ring on a basket setting before setting the stones. The setting is just a plain basket setting, I''m sure it was a standard item because they had it in stock (and those stones were a standard size so nothing custom needed to be done apart from the jump ring.) There''s probably a classier way to do it but that''s the cheap option.

My hoops I''ve had for ages. My husband bought them for me after we had been married a year or two because they matched my wedding band. I would think you could put charms on any hoop earrings as long as there is enough room for them below the lobe and the jump rings (or whatever) are big enough to go over the hoops.

I don''t have any pearl studs actually or at least not plain pearl studs.

Wow, can see see some pictures? Please please?

Pictures of what? For the sapphire ear charms there''s nothing to see yet; I don''t even have the stones.

Heh I meant pictures of your existing charms. I have an earring project in mind and would love to see some creative ideas other than simple stud earrings.

That''s what I''m looking for! I''m all about cheap! LOL I guess those are standard sized "jump rings" that your jeweler used. This is really a cool thing you have going.

FUN! I think that you have a fabulous idea!!!

I got the sapphires on Thursday but I''m still rather undecided on them; they''re a fair bit darker and richer blue than my yogo sapphires. This first picture was taken indoors with minimal lighting at dusk; not the most optimal gemstone environment.

Here''s the same picture only with a flash.
