Would you choose 1.7ct F or 1.8 G ?

I just placed an order with 1.7 ct F but this 1.8ct G just shows up and now I am thinking to change the order to 1.8 instead. The price difference is close to $2000. Not sure if it’s worth it.

Which one would you choose ? I am building a three stone with 0.5ct for my anniversary !

Your decision should be based on how color sensitive you are. Some people will see the difference and some won't. Those who see it have to decide if the price difference is worth the bump in color. Hope that helps.

Edited to say I may have misunderstood. Is the increase in price for the higher color or the slightly larger stone?

Another 1.75ct G which is the cheapest of the three.
1.7ct F about 23K,
1.75ct G is about 20k ,
1.8ct G is 25k ,

You are going to have a wall of bling when this is done! I don’t think the extra mm’s are worth the expense. What color are your side stones? I wouldn’t recommend more than 1 color grade between the sides and the center, imo. Is Whiteflash doing the setting? You mentioned the .5 sides were significantly higher in price than the .4, so the savings on the center diamond will offset the extra for the larger sides??!

I love the 1.75 G the best.

Yes, the 1.75ct is the best price and right in the middle between 1.7 and 1.8! I’m biased because the dimensions of our 3-stone will be almost identical to mine!

The 1.75 is right in the middle and yet the least expensive - probably because of the time frame in which it was procured by WF. It would be my pick!

Also I notice a black smudge on ideal scope image, is it the inclusion I am seeing ? Also on the heart image, not sure what are those on the heart image.

1.75G VS1

1.7F VS1 doesn’t have those

I like the 1.7ct F the most (I'm color sensitive though).

The 1.75ct G looks good too and is lowered priced so if you want the contribute the savings from 3K savings towards getting 0.5ct instead of 0.4ct side stones while sticking to a similar budget, this is a nice option.

Personally not a fan of the 1.8ct G because I don't like the feathers near girdle and the "additional clouds not shown" comment on the cert especially since the clarity plot looks pretty clean. Also, it cost more for a lower color and possibly a just noticeable increase in size.

In a three stone ring, the size difference between 1.7ct and 1.8ct won't stand out.

I would match color to the side stones. Also important is to match table size.

I would go 1.75G, because to me (not colour sensitive) the extra 3K towards the higher colour 1.7F would not be worth it. I could put that 3k towards something else! I dont think you will notice the size difference between 1.7 and 1.8 once set, so I would save my money.

What you are seeing is the inclusion being reflected around in the H&A image of the 1.75. Would not bother me as long as
you cant see if from the top (which you cant). The 1.75 would be my choice.

You can ask WF if you can see the inclusion from the side of the stone (if that will bother you). Your main stone will be fairly well
covered from the sides since you are doing a 3 stone but it might be worth asking. You can also ask WF for a picture
of all 3 stones together if that might help you.

I asked WF to provide me photos from the side I can’t tell much from side photos. They told me both eye clean from naked eye and no visual difference under magnification, but from the photos I can clearly see the difference, so now I am a bit taken back on their comments, am I being too picky ?

I don’t like the 1.75 G that the black spot is so obvious in the middle. so between the two I guess I prefer 1.70 F

the 1.7under asset photo , I can see inclusion on the table. Is it very hard to find one without inclusion in the middle ? If so I might just order this one otherwise maybe I will keep looking.

You will not see that IRL. You’d have to loupe it

I would see that inclusion with my unaided eyes.

I would also see the inclusion in the 1.75. Not from normal viewing distance but up close. I like to study my stones without my glasses or contacts (because otherwise I can't see up close!) and it would bother me.

The 1.7 though I think you'll be ok even super close up.
