Would you help me find a 2.3-2.5 carat diamond?

Hi all!

I’m looking to potentially upgrade my 1.8 stone that I recently bought (oops). I was hoping for a 2.3-2.5 MRB under $30,000. Any recommendations? Overall, I do like a bright diamond (F, G, H) and above a Si1 (although would consider SI1). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

RareCarat.com will sort thru all the diamonds. I’m looking for a lab diamond myself to upgrade from 1.67. Identical to mined diamonds except one came from the earth and one was grown plus usually quite a bit less cost wise.

Why is the stone you recently bought an oops and you are looking to get a new one?

Only because it is a bit too small. My 1.8 is so pretty and I set it in a halo. I am now thinking of deleting the halo, which means I would really love a larger diamond.

I like Rare Carat. I once utilized them and was impressed that I was given input by 2 graduate gemologists... and it was on a stone I found on my own, it wasn't like they may be getting commission on anything so there was no conflict of interest.
As for lab grown, I personally am not a fan and would rather have a smaller stone of a natural diamond over a larger lab grown. I also question the pricing of lab stones and also their value down the line as there isn't the supply and demand situation you have with natural diamonds where their rarity will always maintain their value at some level. These are just the reasons for me personally, but I know I am a bit non-progressive in my viewpoint so I guess I'm old school and my age may (and probably certainly does!) play into it as I would imagine most consumers on this site are younger than me.

How long have you had it?

Use the Presearch Search Engine as a start. Are you still within the return window for the 1.8?

There are 4 Super Ideals in your range with an H color. Super Ideal might be a good idea in case you decide you want to
upgrade in the future.

There are numerous other well-cut stones under $30k. Look for HCA of EX, depth under 62.3, and table under 58.

Thank you. My return window has closed, so if I go this route, I will sell the 1.8 which means I will take a financial hit. But, I did get the 1.8 for a nice price, so the hit won’t be a deal breaker

You can put the specs you are looking for including the HCA proportions into Rare Caret to make it easier to find stones. I would call WF first and see what they have so you can upgrade later.
Actially WF has a beautiful ACA I think was 2.43 for $29,000

This one is gorgeous and looks extremely clean: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4287227.htm?source=pricescope

However, I might be tempted to ask them to compare the above H with this one which gets you to 9mm, but you’d have to be comfortable with the I color...

That’s the exact one I was meaning! Gorgeous!

That "I" is a beautiful stone (and big). You can ask for a picture of it next to an "H".

Thanks. I have it on hold and they are sending me images of the 2 stones. I will post when I get them
