I am soooo glad that I saw the post here about the Sample Sale here in SoCal. I got up fairly early (well, for a Saturday) and met up with Mrs in CA. I got there maybe 20 or 25 minutes before they opened and there was already a big line. We ended up waiting about another 45 to get in because there were so many people.
I don''t remember which of us found it, but I fell in love with the first dress I tried on. It was pretty much the opposite of everything I thought I wanted. I had said no poofy, something light, simple, plain. This dress was a Melissa Sweet, ballgown style, with the polka dot netting fabric over it. I''ve been looking online and I can''t seem to find the exact dress.
Anyway, I went on to try on a bunch of dresses. Anything that was near my size that looked like my boobs might fit into I tried. I found a few that were OK and one other that I really liked. It was another Melissa Sweet that was also very flattering to my shape. After trying on about a dozen dresses it came down to the two Melissa Sweets. The polka dot one felt so wonderful on. It was swishy and light, and I wanted to stand in the center of the room and twirl around. So, I bought it! Now I have to stop looking at gowns for the next year.
Both of us forgot to bring cameras, so my little blackberry had to due as far as photos. This is the dress. Now, I''m wearing a regular bra so ignore those pink straps AND it wasn''t zipped up all the way (I need to finish losing weight) so ignore the gapping around the top.
Thank you again to Mrs in CA for coming with me. She made trying on dresses such a blast! I was really nervous driving there this morning but she put me right at ease and I had a really good time.
