I'm having the most amazing time on this site, it is my new addiction!! I was ready to purchase a new ER for my 10 year anniversary in March from a local jeweller, then started really reading into what the key things were I wanted in a diamond and before I knew it...price had doubled, and tripled.

I would rather wait and get the right stone as I don't really think I will be upgrading again!! I'm interested to see if anyone has a diamond in my specs for sale and can compare to buying new in case I can make this happen sooner. I'm a bit fixated on the idea and just want something NOW! But know I need to do this right. I'm also nervous about purchasing on line without seeing it.

So the stats I'm considering...

Cut Ideal or Excellent
Colour F - I
Clarity SI Eye clean or higher
Carat 1.5 - 2.0
Round brilliant
3X
H&A (not a necessity)
GIA or AGS

If in a setting, ideally platinum or 18ct white gold and 4 or 6 prong. Love the simple Tiffany look, am not wanting anything that sits too high as am a busy mum to 3 boys!!

I have a budget but won't disclose as would like to see if there is anything out there.
Thank you!

It seems like your stats are wide open. You should focus on the best cut possible, which will make the most difference in appearance, and then figure out which other Cs you're willing to negotiate based upon budget. Nothing will make a bigger difference than the cut. If you're fixated solely on size, you will certainly give up other qualities for it.

Thank you for your advice. I am definitely keen on best cut which in some grading seems to be ide, yet with GIA it seems ex is the highest? I think my budget is g colour, si1 but keen to seen what is out there and would go to a lower colour for a larger stone as long as still eye clean.

You're welcome. Triple X is the highest GIA gives. But they're not the best lab - AGS is. Their grading is much stricter. I would trust an AGS triple 0 100k times more than GIA triple X. After my experiences, I don't think I'd buy a GIA stone no matter what it said.

I wanted a 1.5+ D VVS1+ XXX. After researching for months, within my budget, I ended up with a 1.21 G VS1 Crafted by Infinity that surpasses any expectation I had. I did not know what a well-cut diamond looked like. And I can upgrade in the future if I want to, with credit of 100% of what I paid.

Thanks sandy, I'll check them out for sure! I haven't read anyone talk about infinity before but sounds like you have had a great experience? Still keen to hear from anyone they may have something in the range above too please :)

Look at the top of the page for Featured Sponsors under the Resources tab. High Performance Diamonds. If you do a search on the site, you will find lots of information on them.

Hi OP, you're looking for similar parameters as myself! But I definitely want H&A. Did you see the 1.81 ct h/si1 that Elle elle has consigned with Jewels by Grace for $13,9k? The platinum simple setting is also available separately, maybe you could ask for package deal if you like the diamond for sale. It may be worth a look. I second Crafted by Infinity, though. You'd get an amazing stone but maybe on the lower side of your size range. There's also an EGL stone in a designer setting for the same price but not sure how open you are to EGL.

Thank you SB621, have sent you an email via LT

Luvdajules this is definitely worth considering, I've also flicked them an email. I didnt know about this website, are there any other pre loved sites you can suggest I search too? I love the idea that the stone has some extra history!!

Hi sandy, what was your gia experience? Makes me nervous spending a lot of $$ and want to get it right. Maybe something I can learn from ? I am based in New Zealand and I haven't seen any jewellers supply ags.

Thanks dreamer d, I requested the GIa report for this and am unsure about the cut (very good) symmetry (g) and polish (vg) as had been aiming for 3x or 2 excellent a and a vg. Any opinions? I also have to take into account duty and tax to land this in New Zealand which is approx 18% on top of the ring. Would love some advice!!
