I am looking for a rose gold, bangle style (not cuff) Cartier Love bracelet.......it needs to have the new fastening system (not the old style with the loose screws) and, most importantly, be a size 18.
I already have one and am anxious to have a pair - this would be my 15th wedding anniversary present
One last thing.......I would prefer it to be plain rg, but would consider the 4 diamond model.
Being pampered in the Cartier store for 30 minutes just doesn't justify the asking price for me, so I am hoping one of you might have a bracelet that you would care to sell, so you could free up some money for one of the wonderful projects I see on here.....
Thanks :wavey:

Zarina,

The Love retains a good portion of it's value. Even second hand you really aren't saving that much, especially if you want a new one with the new screw system. I think this came into play in 2011 approx. Love's Bangles are currently selling at 6.3k and their is another price increase coming for them in April 2014. Used for the new screw system is roughly in the 5.5-5.7k range. Plus when you are buying second hand Cartier won't authenticate their pieces (except for watches to my aknowledge) so buying from any source is risky. I have seen several fakes on ebay (duh!) and 1st dibs. If you do buy 2nd hand I HIGHLY recommend only going with a well known brand name 2nd hand dealer and make sure the LOVE comes with paperwork including serial number etc that matches. Honestly for piece of mind, and I will only say this for the LOVE as normally I'm all for buying on the 2nd market, but I would just suck it up and buy it from the store. If you are going to spend that much on it then make sure it is 100% real. Tell the sales girl it is your anniversary gift and they give you champagne as well...might take the edge off of dropping that kind of money on a bracelet! But FWIW I'm with you! I have a WG LOVE that I want to stack with a 4 diamond RG one in a size 17. I have been looking, not seriously, all over for a pre loved one and they are few and far between, especially in RG in a popular size. Any that meet my criteria are close to Cariter purchase price. I'm in the process of moving to Europe so I will buy one there and get 15% back in VAT tax. It will be cheaper then the US though not by much but at least I bought it from the Cartier store and have peace of mind. Is that an option for you?

Sorry for the novel! Normally PS isn't extremely brand driven but Cartier is my soft spot! :lickout:

Hello SB621,
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me such thorough advice!........that is very thoughtful and I appreciate it. After looking high and low, I think you are really on track here.
Any of the reputable vendors on ebay, or other sites that I have read about (on this site) have prices that are quite close to the retail and, more often than not, don't have the exact bracelet I want anyway.
We are headed to Rome in 2 weeks - my husband has a meeting there. I think that might be the time to enjoy some champagne in the Cartier store in bella Roma :D
Thanks again for being so candid and honest - I always appreciate good advice :appl:

Oh I bought my 1st one in Rome at the Cartier by the Spanish Steps. It was a wonderful experience. The manager helped us and he is the one that ended up opening a bottle of champagne for us when he heard the bracelet was a birthday gift. He also filled out all the VAT information. Just make sure when you travel back to the US that the braclet is with you in the box. When you turn in the VAT form at the airport they don't want you wearing it, but you must show it if the office is open. If it isn't open just drop the form in the mailbox that is there (looks sketchy but no worries). It took about 8 weeks for our refund.
