:wavey: Really want to get a Cartier Trinity Rolling Ring. I'm clueless as to how their sizes work, but would want one in a size 6.25 - 6.5.

If anyone has one or knows of where I can pick one up on the cheap, any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!!

Hi just wanted to say that I own the small trinity 2.9 bands. My right hand ring finger is exactly between a 6.25-6.5. I first had a 53 which I really liked on the summery day but it ended up being too loose and flew off a few times during the cooler evenings. So I exchanged for a 52 which is technically suppose to be a size 6 but it fits perfectly. So I think you should try them on first at the store before purchasing preloved without knowing:).

HI:

I second that you try a rolling ring on IRL. Find which width of band you prefer. I was completely surprised when I went to Cartier and purchased a ring in a size larger than I usually wear. And of course wider bands/styles will fit smaller, which means you have to go "up" in size. KWIM?

FWIW, Oakgem would be my vendor of choice for Estate jewellery. But look at First Dibs (search by creator) and get comparisons.

cheers--Sharon

Yes, I totally agree with Sharon - much better to go into Cartier and try on irl. I went into a store last week and the sales assistant was extremely helpful and it was a pleasant experience.

Regardless of whether you buy new or secondhand, at least you know which suits bests. I had my dh with me and he was looking at the watches, I gave him the card with all the details of the ring I liked for future reference, :naughty: Christmas is coming.......

FYI the price on the rolling rings at Cariter just went up. The love bracelets went up $600 each ;( I heard the price on the RR went up $400 each. Argh!!!

Hi Lorrissey,
I too am trawling ebay at the moment for a trinity in the same size. I have never bought anything from ebay before so finding it daunting especially trying to figure out which ones are genuine or not. Here is one I came accross today. The seller has very little sales but might be worth contacting her for more info, not persuing myself as she doesn't ship to Ireland. Here is the link

Good luck with the hunt :D

thanks for the tip!!!

The box in that listing looks like a fake Cartier box to me. Just make sure you run the serial number through Cartier before purchasing or ask if they have paperwork.

There are a lot of red flags on that listing. Bidder beware

Oops. Hope I haven't steered you in the wrong direction
Ebay is starting to melt my brain at this stage, I haven't a clue how to spot the fakes.
Thanks SB and Davi

Oh gosh! The price is amazing and just my size but I don't really like the ribbing. So tempting!

It is only easy to spot because I have a real box from Cartier when I bought my love. When looking at Ebay there are small descepancies but it makes them easy to pick out as fakes. The color is off, the pattern is different etc.

SB621,

I was under the impression that Cartier did not authenticate. Is that not so? Could one call Cartier and "run the serial number" as you say or is there another protocol?

Many thanks.

Honestly I'm not sure. When I was buying my bracelet someone bought in Cartier piece and the manager looked up the serial number to tell them more about it. However it was a substancial and expensive piece that was supposedly left to them. When I was at the 5th Ave store the sales person said no when asked to autheticate a trinity ring someone had. Tiffany's used to help autheticate but since ebay really took off and fakes are being sold left and right they won't anyore. I think with Cartier it really depends who you talk to in the store. If they are nice they will help you. I have seen and heard about it going both ways. There is another jewelry forum which i'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention but they have old Cartier employees on there as well ad die hard Cartier lovers who will help autheticate if you have pictures. I hope that helps someone.

I called one of the Las Vegas stores. I had my eye on an eBay item with a certificate showing where the ring was originally purchased, and fairly recently. The SA told me it really varies depending on the Manager. In her store, they would not look up the serial number unless it was the purchaser. It almost sounds like a case by case basis. I think Cartier watches have serial number databases. I wish it were also the case for jewelry.

In the end, I didn't win the auction. It's for the best as it went for more than I was willing to pay and I still had reservations about the authenticity, mainly due to it being on Ebay. There are authorized Cartier dealers but the discount is not great. I guess that's literally the price to pay for provenance.

Apologies for the thread jack. Back to our regularly scheduled programming....

Lorrissey, best of luck in your search!

If you're still looking SFLMaven on Ebay has one for auction. They are a reputable seller of high end jewelry. Worth looking into IMO
