I always here these marquise are plentiful and you can't "give them away", but I cannot find a nice one for the life of me on the second hand market.

1.25 or larger.... anyone have one out there??

Check with IDJ. Israel has inventory of marquise cut stones. Maybe they have something you'll like.

Yeah true but I'd really like to find one second hand. Being that they should be so plentiful.

I'm not good with the eBay route since I'm very risk adverse. Have you checked out Lang Antiques?

Or Ruby Lane? Or are you just looking for a PS member to sell you one from an 80s engagement ring?
I don't care where it come from exactly, though Lang antiques is soooo expensive. I'd be happy to buy it from someone or in eBay, they are just rare, if you're looking for a nice one.

I LOVE the one Forte Kitty picked out for you on eBay.. the price is great.. it's GIA it's a beautiful stone.. and you can even make a lower offer...

If I were in the market (which I'm not) I would be all over this one.. plus we all know FK has an eye for finding amazing deals and diamonds...

chunky http://www.ebay.com/itm/GIA-CERTIFIED-1-77TCW-1-15CT-Center-VS1-MARQUISE-CUT-DIAMOND-ENGAGEMENT-RING-/160979223337?pt=Diamond_Solitaire_Rings&hash=item257b1c0329
I am considering but I do not want that setting. If I could find that stone alone for like 2 k I'd be all over it.

So make an offer for just the center stone. Or make a lower offer and scrap the setting once you get it.

I have. Just don't have much hope they'll except.

That CL one is definitely NOT chunky. Love the "somewhat eyeclean" description.

Haha I think ice stumbled upon the reason these are so hard to find! Why did everyone always get such bad marquise in the 80s??

I love the setting - gorgeous! But it seems a little overpriced.

Also it seems similar to your pear in terms of impact and sparkle - which is a compliment - I love your pear! But I wonder if it would provide enough of a change for you?

i was looking at james allen, because for the price of that one i could get my own, but non of the chubquise really performa all that well at all.

I saw that. I actually almost considered it. But i want to bezel it and i think itll be too low a color for a yellow/ rose gold bezel.

I found this one... i think the inclusions wouldnt bother be in a bezel.

I love ForteKitty's suggestion! I hope they respond to your offer favorably! The JA one is pretty, but the carbon spots seem to reflect in the facets when the stone is spinning and that would probably bother me, though I'm not sure how noticeable the black spots are at, say 6-12 inches.

no they did not respond favorably. I feel like they are asking too much for it, so ill let it go.

I just had to tell you how much I like the word 'chubquise'. :D Great pet or band name.
Good luck with your search.
