Is that the UK seller who used to go by Decocdolly? If so, there's a review for her in the testimonials. I nearly purchased from her a bit ago and then found the exact ring on UK ebay, same description and everything, with days still left on it. When I contacted Decodolly claimed she had the ring, but the ebay seller said that it hadn't been sold yet and it wasn't her on DB.

I could be incorrect about the user ID though! I hope so. I just noticed one of Belle's other rings available for sale, using ebay photos, hours after the ebay item was sold, but before she could possibly have it yet and assumed especially as sellers based in the UK are few and far between. I have no problem with someone selling something they bought on ebay, but was put off by the use of the ebay photos from another seller especially before she could possibly actually have the ring. Wish I'd bid higher on the ruby & sapphire ring on ebay while I had the chance!

Is the seller Belle? I've bought from them before. They shipped quickly. The item I got was as described. I'd say that I got what I paid for - wasn't a great deal but wasn't a bad one either.

Yes the seller was belle- I emailed him to ask if I could pay with regular PayPal and not as a gift paypal and he said he would check the fees but then didn't get back to me bc I guess It sold in the minutes following (we had been emailing Sunday morning). I just felt I needed the paypal buyer protection and if it paid as gift then I might not be protected if it was lost in transit.

Thanks so much! I saw that Ruby Lane one this am and thought it was very pretty...but hard to give up on my asscher/carre/French dream just yet lol! The package arrived yesterday, empty. The padded mailer was not well-sealed (no tape, just the soft adhesive on the envelope) and the ring was not inside. When I reached out to the seller, he first suggested that I would need to file a claim with the Royal Mail service, and when I told him that was impossible as I wasn't the shipper, he told me he'd only refund me once his claim with them had been honored. Given this series of events, the fact that the listing still hasn't been marked as sold, the odd requirement that the funds be sent as a "gift" and the testimonials of others I've heard have worked with this seller, I certainly won't be doing business with him again or recommending him to anyone else.

Oh no! I know from sending my sister a birthday gift recently that Royal Mail has an upper limit of £500 on insurance. If you paid the price listed then insurance offered through Royal Mail isn't high enough to cover any costs and unless the package was sent a recorded service it's not covered at all. I'm so sorry that this happened to you!

I felt terrible posting the first time in this thread about the "borrowed" ebay photos but now I'm really glad that I did. The business practices of this person are terrible! And I really think this is the same person, based on location and the borrowed photos, that was reviewed in the Testimonials thread under the name Decodolly.

kdarling-I am so sorry to hear this...I was emailing early sunday morning back and forth with him and was ready to paypal him the money when told him I would only complete the transaction if I could do it as a purchase, not a gift. I never heard back from him but assumed it was because someone else was quicker. I hope you are protected through paypal somehow or your cc company.

Luckily for me, I sent money as a purchase of goods, not as a gift. I opened a claim with PayPal and am keeping my fingers crossed that things are resolved quickly. I'm so sorry to hear that others have had issues with this seller too.

yes, that is definitely the ring though the listing on LT said it was a 4, not a 3.5...

kdarling-thanks for sharing this info with us and hope it is resolved quickly.

On another note, I actually bought a ring off ebay with carre cuts just to get the stones-she took my best offer (though seller called them asscher). I received it and the stones are gorgeous, beautiful clarity and easy to see they are squares even though they aren't huge (they have a slight taper the way they were set, but average size is around 2mm). I will be having a platinum band made with the stones. I have to say I channeled Niel lol-such an inspiration!
