Am posting this in case some of you collectors may have something stashed away that you'd consider allowing to go to a new home. (Will continue to check ebay, but would rather buy from a PSer if someone just happens to have something stashed away.)

I'd like an OMC .75-1 ct. (could be larger, but I doubt that's available in my budget). Am not too picky about color or clarity as long as the diamond is eye clean. Don't mind a little wonk, like a medium to large culet. Setting can be either typical vintage solitaire with small sidestones or something art deco-ish, but not too wide, tall, or elaborate. A simple fishtail setting would work, too, like the inexpensive ones that used to be available on DB.

This (photos below) was available on ebay for a short while, but seemed overpriced at $2500. Before I could make an offer (which I'm pretty sure the seller would have refused), the ring sold. This setting isn't my usual style, but I love this one. I like that the setting is fairly low and that the shoulders are concave. I like that the design is smooth rather than milgrain/bumpy. The head is not a bezel but has that look and the head flares from bottom to top so a low band would fit against it.

I wear a size 8 (might be able to squeeze into a 7.75, 8.25 is comfy). Prefer platinum, but white gold is fine. Might even consider yellow gold.

If you have something, or know of a similar setting from a setting supplier, please post. I can probably find a diamond if no one has one that needs a new home but the setting will be more challenging.

Thanks,

liz

P.S. Love the GOG OMC that's on LT or DB but the diamond alone is out of budget so it's not an option.

InnaR,

I've sent you a message on LT asking for some more info. Would like to know the dimensions of the diamond. I'm definitely interested.

jbkhere,

That's certainly a possibility! Inna says that the diamond ought to be set in an open basket setting, and yours certainly is that. And I could see the profile of the diamond really well in that setting.

I've found one on ebay that I like, but no telling what it will sell for. Would have to resize it, just as I would with yours.

I can also get one of those fishtail settings that poppyseed sells, so there are some lovely possibilities.

Thanks for pointing out your listing.

jbk,

That's a very pretty ring that's well within my budget and I do like the setting. If I were looking for an OEC, I'd definitely consider it. I have a .75 OEC already so the only diamond that I'm considering at this point is OMC. That should just about complete my collection!

Again, thanks for posting the link. I hope someone will fall in love with it.
