Hi all, I have been having trouble with my platinum four-prong housing my approx. 7 mm stone. The prongs have been knocked loose three times now since I bought it in January. I visited a local jeweler who tightened and examined it for me, and she stated that to be more secure, I should think about 6 prongs. The prongs now are very thin (not just the claw tip but the whole prong seems too delicate for daily wear, as it turns out). So! I would love to see if anyone is looking to rehome something in platinum or white gold. I am a size 6.5 but could have it sized if needed. Thanks for any help.
I am leaning more towards platinum at the moment. Most important to me is that it be a very sturdy setting. That is the only reason I am hesitating to purchase new from the vendor you mention. I hear their settings can be a little light.
