Hello all,
I've mentioned a few times how I'd been searching for the "perfect" chrysoberyl since forever. But even very beloved and trusted vendors were sending me "neon" stones that were anything but. I rarely buy finished jewelry pieces, but I spotted this ring on Etsy, and fell in love with everything about it. Some of you may have seen it. For some reason, the way the listing was worded really made me have faith in the seller that this stone was the real deal. He mentioned in the listing that it was a true "highlighter" color and the rough was mined in Orissa, India. I figured, this has to be a serious collector. Anyway, he kept this stone for himself, set it, and recently decided to sell his personal collection. He's in Singapore, so I was really nervous to purchase the piece. To my total surprise and delight, the stone actually ended up being more vibrant in person, which never happens.
It's a little over 4ct. and 12x9mm with a concave cut. I'm really loving the modern design too... it's 18k yellow gold with diamonds, a pink spinel, and orange sapphire. Now I just have to get it resized because it was created for wee little Asian fingers.
Anyway, it just goes to show... don't give up your search for the stone that is eluding you!
