Any opinions on yg vs wg prongs? (With an F colored stone)

My girlfriend LOVES yg, but I’m concerned yg prongs will distract from the F color of the stone, make it look yellow etc which I want to avoid since I’m going with a colorless stone.
It will be a 3-stone ring like the below examples - Oval center and pear sides.

Any truth to the fact that yg prongs make the stone look more yellow?

Or any thoughts on if a two-tone setting with a gold shank and wg prongs is subtle enough for a yg lover? Since it’s a 3-stone ring, even with just wg prongs it seems like a lot of wg.

Yg and a two-tone examples below that are similar to the ering I’m going with:

I prefer yellow gold prongs, personally. a well cut diamond won't absorb color from the setting. A poorly cut one might

appreciate it! I am leaning toward all yellow gold as well. With how many prongs there are for a 3-stone ring I feel like two tone isn’t as seamless of a look as a solitaire

I had yg prongs for 35 years and loved them. Never repaired. I love the contrast of the yg with the White of the diamond. I got talked into platinum prongs with yg now and I don’t love it as much.

I am going to say no to yg prongs! To me, white diamonds should always have wg or platinum prongs so they basically disappear so that you mostly see the diamond. Have the shank (band) in yellow gold and the prongs in white metal. The yg prongs will reflect in the diamond, and I just don't recommend that at all. My original engagement ring was a solitaire with white gold prongs and yellow gold shank, incidentally.

Thanks DS -you are correct in that the prongs blend right in with the diamond. I would always choose white gold for the prongs regardless of the shank metal. Some like the contrast of the yellow prongs with the white diamond but it has never been my preference.

I'm a yellow gold kinda girl. It fits my undertone too. I would go with that!

I'm one who generally prefers yellow metal over white, but with an F color diamond I'd go with white metal prongs and the yellow gold shank for the style of ring that you are looking at.

Thank you all for your opinions! Looks like pretty even split for yg vs wg.

I am having this custom made locally, but thankfully they’ve said that if I do wg prongs and my GF wants to change it to yg prongs they will do it complimentary as they pride themselves on customer service. Of course I would like it to be how she wants it the first time around… (but it’s a surprise!)

I may start with wg prongs so she can at least see that look in person to highlight the stone, and can always fall back on remaking in all yg if she prefers.

I much prefer yellow and rose metals to white...but I would always set diamonds in white gold prongs. The contrast between white diamonds in white metal, and a yellow or rose gold shank, to me, is beautiful. And I say that as a YG/RG lover!

My profile pic is my e-ring, I think the rose gold still dominates.
