I''m hoping to propose to my girlfriend within the next few weeks. I''m a little worried about how the whole thing will turn out, so I thought I''d throw it out here and see what you guys think. Am I missing anything? Any input (good and bad) is more than welcome!

We both like to run a little bit together. I just moved into a new apartment in Austin and there''s a park with a fairly nice trail right down the street. I scouted it out a couple days ago and found this very nice and huge tree towards the end of the run. I want to do a surprise proposal so I went with encorporating it with something we like to do together.

Anyways, we''d go on a run and when we reach the tree, I''ll have scattered rose petals all across the grass from the trail to the base of the tree to make a path. I''ll have a bouquet of roses waiting for her at the base, along with the ring in a box (duh), a boombox playing a song that''s dear to the both of us in the background. We are both Christians and taking Communion is an important thing for the both of us and I thought we''d be able to do that together either before or after I proposed.

My roommate will help me do the set up. What am I missing? Is there anything I can add to make it better?

Thanks.

It sounds like a well thought out proposal. I do have a question for you though, as I love to exercise but am not a big fan of being sweaty, how will she feel about being proposed to after a run and then heading to church in her running clothes? Perhaps you could alter it just slightly so that it involves a walk in the park by your house, you could suggest to explore the new neighborhood and end up there. That way she''ll be dressed a bit more comfortably for the situation.

Oh. Sorry I didn''t clarify that. We weren''t going to a church afterwards. I was just going to have the bread and grape juice (wine after a run doesn''t sound all that appealing) right there by the flowers.

I don''t anticipate a problem with the whole sweating thing. She''s an athletic girl and likes excercising more than anything else.

Thanks for your input though. I appreciate it.

I think it sounds great. I''ve never heard of incorporating communion into a proposal, but I like it. You aren''t only making the committment to each other, but to God also.

What a great way to incorporate something you both love into the proposal. I think it sounds beautiful and romantic, if I were her I would melt.

Good luck, and congratulations!

Amazing proposal idea! Congrats, and good luck!

Make sure your roommate stays nearby until you get there so that nothing is stolen.

Very ture! I actually wouldn''t even leave the ring box sitting there. I''d keep it on my person because I''d be too afraid it would vanish. But that''s just me. But the vase and boom box and such will likely be safe if your room mate is nearby watching.
