PriceScope’s Vetting Process: What to Expect

We take the trust of our members very seriously – to protect our diamond and jewelry community, each of our potential associations involve a thorough vetting process. This often takes more time and effort, but it helps ensure the vendors who meet our requirements are the most consumer-friendly, setting industry benchmarks in truthful advertising, best business practices and consumer protection.

Components we consider include, but are not limited to:

Company History

• We will research company history, including founders and/or owners.
• We will examine customer reviews and ratings from reputable online sources.
• We will make reference-inquiries with reputable industry leaders and creditors.

Truthful Advertising

• We will explore company messaging philosophies
  We will verify proper promotion of strengths (i.e. proof provided for claims such as “H&A” etc.)
• We will verify proper use of terminology (i.e. no abuse of terms such as “sustainable,” “GIA certified gemologists,” etc.)
• We will verify industry esprit de corps* (i.e. no condemnation of other business models, no disparaging comments about competitors, etc.)

Best Business Practices and Consumer Protection

• We will inspect product selection and range of quality.
• We will inspect product information, images, and video quality provided for purchase decisions.
• We will inspect general education as well as advanced education related to online purchase decisions.
• We will inspect no-risk policies related to shipping, inspection period, and returns.
• We will inspect short, mid, and long-term client experience, including post-purchase support and benefits.
