A couple of questions about getting a diamond and a setting

Oops, forgot you were going with a Lucida setting. I guess 8.25/8.5 may be more appropriate. Good luck.

Yeah, I had pretty much decided on the 8.5. I had her try on the 3 rings, 1 very thin, 1 medium, and 1 wide. The wide, she needed a 9, the thin and medium she needed an 8.

While it is not contemporary, I think she will like the style of the ring.

I am likely to give JA a call tomorrow with my decision. Is there anything about this diamond that has not been mentioned that I might need to know?

Thanks!

I believe this is the image that makes me like the ring so much. It looks like a sleek ring.

No doubt she''ll love the ring. The stone looks gorgeous, it really does, but we''ll have to wait for it to arrive before we get the *final* confirmation.

I hope so. I am both excited and nervous. I''m sure that she will love the ring. I hope I am not setting my sites to high by expecting it to look just as it is shown on the JA website. I hope the diamond that I''ve selected looks just as good, if not better, than the diamond shown in their setting.

The diamond is a winner and that is my favourite solitaire style. It looks wonderful on the hand, especially on so-called larger fingers... I have personally found that the more substantial look of the lucinda style looks better on my hands, which are a 6.5, because it gives good hand presence.

She will flip out when you give it to her!

Are you proposing or is this a gift of another sort?

Alright, well, I told Darin that I want that diamond with the Lucida style setting, so I guess this is it!

This ring is going to be a stunner and I think 8.5 is the right way to go, especially since fingers tend to swell in the summer. Congratulations on your upcoming commitment!

Just came from the bank and made the wire transfer. Looks like ETA is 3/3/10. I am so excited!

Good luck. :)

Good luck. :)

Thanks for all your help, Stone-cold11. Without pricescope, I don''t think I could have done it.

It looks awesome! Are you happy?

Please post hand shots when you pop the non-question

Is that your ring next to the solitaire?

From what I''ve seen of the ring so far, I am happy. The ring next to it is the band I had a question about in the proposal thread:

Totally unrelated, but a question that may somehow be relevant. I got a call from my jeweler today saying that the ring I dropped off is ready. It is a braided rose, yellow, and white gold band. It is very nice. I had it at the jewelers because the band had my ex''s name engraved in it. (She gave it to me but I never wore it, so it is like brand new.) I dropped it off at the jewelers because I had the etching buffed out. Would it be appropriate to wear the band or should I stick it back in the jewelry box?

It is a lovely ring, but I know my husband would not like me wearing a ring give nto me by another boyfriend. Your partner may feel differently... but I doubt it

Ditto Dreamer''s comment. I''m very practical and don''t like to be wasteful but a wedding ring has too much emotional signifigance to worry about saving a few dollars. Replace the ring from your Ex, imo.

Your gf''s new ring looks beautiful. Well done.

I cannot find the ring that was given to my by my gf. It was the first time we were together and I may have given it back to her when we broke up.

Check out these pics.

They were taken on a mirror in the backyard. You cannot see the diamond very well, but the image is kind of neat.

Do you use James Allen appraisal for homeowner''s insurance or do you still have to get your own appraisal?

I just read your other thread -- is the non-proposal tonight? If so, good luck! The ring is perfect. I think it''s sleek looking -- definitely edgy enough for an artistic person.

Dreamer, read her full story again... :P This thread. https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-proposal-will-not-be-a-proposal.136876/

I believe that is the ring given to her by the girl she is going to propose to.

Good luck, terceslil :)
Nope the braided ring is from an ex, not the current!

She has the ring. She was very excited and surprised! Thanks for all your help in selecting the princess diamond. She loves it.

Congratulations! It looks perfect on her hand! More photos, please!

ETA: Just saw your thread in Show me the Ring.

Congrats. :)

Oh wow, gorgeous! It''s really the perfect size for her hand too. Congratulations!
