blackberry16, that is an absolutely gorgeous ring.

My bezel-set beauties (listing the smaller 14k white gold one on Loupe Troop, currently, as I either want to sell it or re-set it if it doesn't sell, I think). The larger one in 14k yellow gold is technically over a carat (it's 1.5), but it's an odd color, reddish-greenish-pinkish, and probably only about SI clarity, made by the very talented ValerieKStudio on Etsy; the smaller emerald cut in 14k white gold is, I'm told by my jeweler uncle in spite of not having an official report, about .30 and VS1 clarity (might be H-I color, but hard to tell):

My bezel set EC rings, a 0.48ct and a 1.19ct E VS1, both in platinum:

My bezel set ruby rings, the bigger one is 1.59ct, set in platinum; the smaller ruby is just under 1ct, side stones about 0.2ct each, set in 18K WG:

The small EC and the 3-stone ruby rings are my everyday rings.

Hi Ladies!

I'm new here but I've been a lurker for some time and I LOVE this bezel thread.

I just got my beautiful bezel yesterday. I've always loved bezels, I love the look as well as the security & practicality and also my mother's engagement ring is a bezel too so I'm a bit biased.

The stone is a .86ct old european cut, it's from my great grandmothers engagement ring, she was engaged in 1905. The gold is 18k and taken from some family pieces that no one wore, we got it melted, refined and alloyed back to 18k. The ring was made by a local jeweller. I could not be happier! It's exactly what I wanted. The open setting lets in a lot of light and I love being able to see the bottom of the stone. It's hard to capture in iPhone photos, but the stone sparkles like crazy. The stone is actually slightly irregular in shape as it was cut almost 110 years ago, before fancy high tech machines! And I like that, I like that it was cut by a real person, by hand.

Size is an O 1/2, which is a 7 1/2 in US sizing. My fingers are especially puffy today, it's hot here.
