The Oscars air live on Sunday, February 24, and we are ready for some serious red-carpet jewelry to mark the culmination of the 2013 awards season. And just in time, Blue Nile launched a red-carpet jewelry showcase of dazzling diamond and colored-stone creations from the company’s Extraordinary Collection.
The kind folks at Blue Nile invited me to visit their company headquarters to chat about celebrity jewelry trends and to give our readers an exclusive look at some of their fabulous high-end jewels.
Blue Nile’s offerings reflect the red-carpet trends seen at this year’s major award shows. The Extraordinary Collection features a cascading 31.81-carat cushion-cut diamond bib necklace and a 44.50-carat oval-cut diamond rivière necklace. These gorgeous pieces nod to classic mid-century diamond looks favored by Jessica Chastain and Marion Cotillard at the 2013 SAG Awards.
The Extraordinary Collection also features a rare 4.31-carat tsavorite garnet and diamond ring and a 38-carat emerald necklace that play on Pantone’s Color of the Year, Emerald. The collection’s diamond bracelets are perfect for stacking à la Jennifer Lopez at this year’s Grammy Awards. And diamond drop earrings and pavé diamond rings are always in season: Blue Nile’s red-carpet selections with surrounding pink diamonds and mixed-metal detailing provide a healthy balance to bolder looks.
While Blue Nile has always offered luxury jewelry, the company is now offering a larger selection than ever before.
“For more than a decade, our customers have trusted us to provide high-quality engagement rings and jewelry gifts commemorating every occasion. With this refreshed focus on our Extraordinary Collection, they can now have red carpet-worthy luxury and glamour at an amazing value,” said Blue Nile Chief Merchandising Officer Julie Yoakum.
We expect to see the following jewelry trends at this year’s Academy Awards, so are you red-carpet ready? Enjoy this selection from Blue Nile’s Extraordinary Collection.
