I saw that! It’s gorgeous. The manufacturer has a listing in Lang’s Antique University as I recall.

I love it, it has all the things. All the things I love!
The only thing I really know about T.B Starr (Theodore B, Starr) is they were a preeminent jeweler in New York in the 18-early 1900's. Very high quality stuff. Examples in museums and all that...

Thank you! I will treasure it. I am think to send it to GIA to see if the ruby is heated or not. I think it might be unheated. Fingers crossed.

Stunning and the special work details are excellent

It's supposed to be Burmese sapphires, hence the price. I am sending it in to find out for sure.

Thanks for the compliments! I'm in love. Here's a picture of it with my other unheated rings--Madagascar, Kashmir & Ceylon. I took them out in the afternoon sun!IMG_6598.JPG

Everything is SO beautiful. You are one lucky lady.

I'm still trying to upload a picture of my paltry collection, but I am embarrassed that my phone is smarter than I am.

My first European, or at least my first big enough European to definitely look like an European lol.

@lala646 , it's 1.2 something center, SI because it has a tiny chip under a prong, that's not visible to me, not even under the loup. I'll take it in to my guy. The setting is divine. It's pretty wild how spread the old cuts are; it looks huge. I had a 1.8 ct modern brilliant and it was meh in terms of sizing.

Isn't it though? The mount is fantastic, too:love:

@Mrsz1ppy What can you tell us about that glorious sugarloaf at the top? The stone, the setting, all amazing!! (I love cabs.)

Thanks! She’s a beaut I bought from Gilded Lane. The sugar loaf has a big inclusion on one corner but doesn’t break the surface. The mounting is at least old style, and looks old to me. I recarted it with AGL because it had an Asian lab cert, and AGL confirmed Ceylon unheated.

Then, I found a very similar ring, but with a much better emerald, in Lang’s archives. So quite the mystery! Thanks for asking about sugar; it’s been fun remembering.

So pretty @nala and I really love the old mine cut in that setting. How are you liking it?

I posted this in SMTB already, but she fits in here. I'm a huge deco fan and have always loved target rings especially. And really love a warm old cut surrounded by blue sapphires. This one from Sin City Finds knocked me out & I had to have it! Center is GIA 2.15ct S-T VS1 oec.

Here’s mine! My first antique. Early Victorian, 1830-1840s, ruby and natural pearl, 18k gold. It’s dark red in real life, no pink or purple modifiers.
