Tahitian pearls - Vendor vs. IRL pictures

My latest purchase was a multicolor string of round Tahitians, 13 -15mm.

Thank you for your kind comments CMD2014 and marionberry. Yesterday I cut apart the round strand and restrung it in a different sequence. It took me three tries but I love it even more now.
Marionberry I will be watching for pictures of the keshi and tourmaline earrings. The colors!

Earlier this summer I bought a strand from PurePearls. They were described as very dark charcoal grey to near-true black body colors with cherry and peacock overtones. They were listed as true round and AA+. I'll post two pictures from PurePearls and two that I took. I had PurePearls modify the necklace and the last picture has 10 white pearls.

These are my new Tahitians from American Pearl. They’re 12 - 14.3 mm multicolor pastels. Top is their pictures from the website. Bottom are my pictures. They were fantastic. I had bought a *much* less expensive strand in one of their flash sales. But it was double sold, so they offered me this strand (selling for twice the price) for the price of the original strand. I love it!

I would be shocked if the necklace you got is exactly the one shown in that picture. The picture clearly has one blue-ish pearl being largest in the bottom of the necklace, with a very distinctive yellow/green pearl 2 to the right of it.

In your photo, the blue-ish pearl in the bottom does not appear to be the largest and the pearl 2 to the right of it is brown — the yellow/green is 3 to the right in your strand.

With that said, the more important question is are you happy with your necklace and is it worth what you paid for it to you? If yes, enjoy it! If not, return it.

The very same necklace listing still appears on the POJ website, so I don't think you got the one pictured.

I notice the listing does not state that you will receive the very strand that is in the picture. But Tahitian multicolored necklaces are so distinctive that it is logical for buyers to assume they will receive the very one pictured, rather than one with similar colors and sizes. Therefore I find the listing misleading.

If you don't love it, return it. That is waaay too much to spend on something you don't love.
