OK. I just got the CAD images today from BGD. I am honestly just sooooooooo excited!

I think it is going to be GORGEOUS! So simple, so classic, so timeless... (and my beautiful diamond is gonna be SO DANG SQUEAKY CLEAN!!!

)

I told Lesley that this ring just feels so *right* to me... in a way that the bezel setting ideas just weren't.

OK... here you go...

*** TaDa! ***

(ETA: OK, remember that CADs are bulky and heavier than the finished design will be. BGD says there is a 15% overage. And OH, don't forget to picture delicate, perfect claw prongs!

And for anyone who doesn't already know this, my diamond is an AGS-0 2.36 RB, and ring size will be 4.75.)

And of course... does anyone have any suggestions to improve the design? Any thoughts? Ideas? All comments WELCOME!!! I value you guys' opinions more than you know!

That looks fantastic Lynn! So glad that it sings to you as well!

What is the ETA for that new set?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This is FABULOUS!!! Did you decide no Halo????

LOVE IT!!!!

Oh, forgot to mention my thoughts. *DUH!*

I plan to ask Lesley and Brian about setting the stone lower. I'd like the culet to aaaaaalmost touch the donut. "Loooooooow and squatty" has always been my mantra! Which will hopefully "bow out" the head a little more, making the (overall) "V" of the head less tall and a little wider at the top than it currently is.

Although I am also getting a plain, matching w-ring, I plan to wear it the new e-ring sometime with my fishtail pave w-ring, too, so Brian designed it with the same shape ("anatomy") of the fishtail pave to perfectly coordinate with it. VERY EXCITED about that!

Awww, Patty, thanks for your sweet post! Yes, it really does make my heart sing. I am so incredibly excited.

ETA? I think about 3 weeks. But then it goes to that SCALAWAG in Florida first!!!

Aw, Thanks, Woo!

Yeah, I finally nixed the bezel idea... Brian and I really tried... but we just couldn't find a gallery design that I loved, and then besides that, I started to realize that if it was bezeled, I would really miss seeing *all* of my stone, and the edge-to-edge sparkle that it is crazy famous for. At that point, I told Brian we need to go to Plan B, which was my "back-up plan" since the beginning.

Although calling this ring "Plan B" is quite a misnomer... it's now my delightful PLAN A all the way, babeeee!

The design is just classic, and your ring will be elegant and glamorous and perfectly suited to every situation.

Can''t wait for the real thing!!

You can do no wrong in any setting to your BEATIFUL DIAMOND
30.gif
its classic and clean yay!

That''s going to be stunning Lynn! I missed when you decided not to do the bezel but I think this setting is going to look incredible!

STUNNING! So classic and elegant. Curious, will a WB sit flush?

Lynn, would you mind sharing the mm of the band? 2mm? 1.8mm? 2.5?

I recently lost my Cartier engagement ring (still really sad about it) and your setting looks identical to my old once except mine had a mini cathedral setting. For my new ring I am thinking of doing something similar again but I want the band REALLY thin and the diamond to sit lower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks, everyone, for your posts and well-wishes!

And D&T, I hope you aren''t too disappointed that I canceled the bezel idea.

I just had too many li''l worries about it, and it just didn''t feel quite right. For RIGHT NOW, anyway!

No, because of the small "donut", there will be a slight, sexy

little gap between the rings!

Well, blondie, I won''t know for exact sure till the rings are done. But I had a discussion with Brian about it... I want as thin as possible, and he wants structural integrity ( <-- and so do I, of course!
1.gif
) If you go too thin, then they aren''t able to guarantee that the ring(s) won''t misshape, etc.

So the thinnest that he said he was comfortable going was CAD''ing the shank at 2mm. Once it is finished and polished, he said it will come in slightly under. He was fine with that and so am I !

Looks just like a Leon. Is there a reason you didn''t just order one from him and have perfect claws?

Looking forward to seeing it
30.gif

my only suggestion is what you said to lower the stone so that the point hovers at the donut-other than that simply stunning

Your completed ring is going to be soooo exciting! Can''t wait!

Ha! She better stop calling you names - it could cost her days and days of delay in getting her ring back!

Wow. Can''t wait to see it IRL!

I''ve been following your reset adventure!! Very exciting!
I Looovvee the profile!!

I love solitaires
30.gif
- my original ering setting was a split shank which I changed to a solitaire and I LOVE it - I would never go back to my old setting.

Do you have a 'before' picture?

have you looked at the BG blog inventory?
I''m confident they are capable of producing the type of claws Lynn would like.

I always find it amusing when folks suggest Leon is the only jeweller who can do claw prongs

Well, yes actually I have. They are close, but not quite the same. I''m sure Lynn will be happy with her choice. I was just curious why she picked a ring that was exactly like one that was already being manufactured.

Lynn, your ring is beautiful and I can''t wait to see it. It will be gorgeous on your hand.
