“Bee” has a new party dress!

I’m getting some of my yellow gold pieces ready for Bee’s arrival! I have a few other vintage blossom type bands that I picked up but will try them later. This is what I picked out for today. My grandma’s pendant was made when I lost one of a set of earrings when I was a teenager. It’s over a hundred years old now. A jeweler was able to make it into a pendant when I was a young mom..I gave it to my mom to wear. I now have it as she’s in a nursing home. The other one is a heart monogram bracelet I wore in my twenties. It’s very banged up but I won’t get it polished as it has history. I wore it every day even after getting married and having two children. The flexible bangle bracelet was purchased when I was forty..so that’s twenty-eight years ago. It’s style is dated now but so am I!
I just got the package but have to take a shower! I didn’t even open it yet. I’ll do that now!

It’s here! I’m going into the shower now but took a quick pic. I’m wearing aqua blue pjs..She’s picking up the color. I don’t know how this can be but she’s whiter in the 18k yellow gold than in the 18k white gold! I’m so happy with her! She looks huge here because I blew it up. I think she’s a little over 9mm.

@MissGotRocks The bangle came out so pretty!! I’m so happy that it feels the same as when I had Bee set in the bangle. I feel like I got a surplus diamond ring when I had the diamond all along! I’ll post over the lab diamond forum under Lightbox tomorrow.

Thank you @RunningwithScissors! I was so worried about the 18k yellow gold but I love it..I just can’t mix metals..The YG setting makes the diamond look whiter than when it was set in 18k white gold. I still don’t understand it!

Thank you @Slickk! I know how much you love bezels..I do too. I’m glad I didn’t have David make the halo larger to increase her size. He got it to a little over 9mm..I love that it’s understated and doesn’t overpower her.

@MamaBee Re: above, I think it’s the contrast between the white stone and the yellow metal. I always thought yellow gold made my diamonds stand out in the 80’s and 90’s before I changed to platinum.

@Slickk I forgot to tell you my DIL is getting Wonky. Do you remember her? I still love that ring after David fixed her bezel.. It was too much like this ring so I offered it to her. She’s excited.

Well…..I noticed that the milgrain band I love with her is too high. It rubs the pretty gallery. I dug out my plain 18k yellow gold band to try out.
It’s the perfect height. I think I now need a very low set diamond band to stack it with..I do have this channel set one. It’s not the perfect width or height but I think it looks okay.

@Slickk I did try the channel set band with her alone but I don’t remember what carat yellow gold it is. I did a quick look with a loupe but don’t see the stamp. It may be 14k which could scratch the soft 18k. It’s on the high side so it rubs against the gallery.

Fast forward to the past year, I decided to collect a few pieces of designer yg, and now I think I need some kind of yg ring to wear with it! I am going to aim for a diamond band in hopes of not having to buy another larger diamond!

@diamondseeker2006 Thank you! I also had one of my original settings in yellow gold. That was decades ago! Now I’m loving it again. I do prefer white metals..but the yellow gold is a nice change..
I would love to see what you come up with!
