I''m rather color sensitive, to the point where i can start seeing body color in an H colored .42ct rb. However, I just fell in love with this GIA grated K colored pear w/ strong blue fluor. I didn''t want to mention it earlier, and was throwing the idea of resetting my current pear... but i just can''t stop thinking about this stone!!

It was loose, and it didn''t appear nearly as tinted as a J colored princess I saw, and it definitely didn''t appear any more tinted than the J rb next to it. Granted, the J rb had no fluorescence, while the K pear had strong blue. Surprisingly, the color didn''t bother me. For some reason, color only bothers me in rb, squares, and marquises. I''m fine with them in pears and cushions.

Questions:

1) will it look more tinted once set in WG?
2) am i crazy for considering trading my E colored pear for it? it was so pretty and really inexpensive (sold as second-hand for $1800).
3) would you give up a .61ct E Vs2 pear for a 1.18 K VS2 pear?

If you are in love, then go for it!

If I had $1800 in my pocket, I''d snatch that up in a second!

Aarrrgghh... i''m soooooo fickle! I''ve only had my pear for what, 2 weeks? and now i want another stone?

Does anyone out there have a K colored pear set in white gold or platinum? Would you mind posting some pics so I can see what it looks like? I''m terrified of the color, even tho it''s probably psychological since I saw it and it looked fine, but i remember how much the tint in the H rb bothered me, and i can''t help but feel hesitant!

I thought you gave your pear to your Mom ''cause she loved it?? Different stone?

Answer to your questions ...

1. Probably not, if it faces up pretty white now ... it will probably face up white in a White Gold setting.

2. No, I don''t think your crazy. If you are loving it ... and keep thinking about it ... I say ... GO FOR IT!

So yeah... i had it sized and rhodium dipped, and that's when i saw this K stone.

Jelly & Joy~ i''m not sure if i''m in love, or if i''m just in a buying mood this weekend, so i''m gonna sit on it. If it''s still there next weekend, maybe i''ll get it.

In the mean time, please post any pictures of K pears you guys may have seen. I can''t find very many!

Well, since my pear has a really good spread, it''s not really that big of a jump in visual size.

my pear measures around 7.5 x 5 (too lazy to look up right now)
the K measures 9.1 x 5.7 (i think.. can''t remember right now)

So it''s not really that big of a jump. longer, yes, but not much wider.

I forgot about Mary Alaina''s K pear! hmm....
