1.53ct Asscher cut ring - Opinions please...

Lil Misfit,
I like your ring, which inspired me to look for a setting with a bezel mounting. The A. Jaffe setting I like has a closed pave basket and I was wondering if this might take away from the diamond at all by not allowing any extra light in to let it shine. Is the basket of your setting open at all on the sides? Do you like it?
Thanks!

Your latest picture looks interesting. I'd URGE you not to get wedding bands for either side ... too busy! Asschers are really tricky little devils. Good luck!!

The basket of my ring is open on all sides, which I think definitely helps with light reflection. My ring sparkles so much more now than it did when it was prong set. I would be concerned about the closed pave basket and would have to see a ring in person before committing to such a setting.

I also wanted to add that the pave basket would make it very hard to clean your center stone. Something to think about since Asschers show dirt very easily (I clean mine daily).
