I hope you take this the right way but GOG will probably provide customer service that you will and cannot provide . Slightly larger = higher price breaks. Unfortunately, you are not retail but preloved, which means you should safely assume 50-60% or so after paypal/mailing and all return rate. If you seriously want people to provide an offer, I'd stronger suggest considering those factors.

Good luck with your sale! It's really quite a beauty.

I do disagree with this. An AVC is a very rare stone. yes, I can see that an ordinary round brilliant might sell at 30-50% off if bought at a high price point, but I would think someone would be absolutely thrilled to get an AVC at any discount. I certainly think she should get 75-80% of the current value. That said, I haven't looked at her asking price compared to current AVC's, but she should do MUCH better than 50-60% on a highly desirable and rare stone like an AVC.

She's asking $24,500 and $24,725, depending on which listing you look at. I saw the price tag on LT and couldn't help but raise my eyebrows for a secondhand diamond. So yeah, I tend to think that's more retail pricing, not secondhand pricing, EVEN for an AVC. GOG's pricing includes future trade ins, a lifetime guarantee and other customer service guarantees as royalstarrynight pointed out.

If I had that kind of cash (hahaha!!) I'd rather go for:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9205/

But what do I know, I tend to stick to the colored stones for a reason! But knowing what I do about jewelry, items rarely sell for their appraised value, especially secondhand. Those appraised values are typically somewhat inflated, in my opinion and experience.

(OP, I'd really recommend sticking with one listing.)

I appreciate everyone's input. Wasn't sure exactly how to price it. Was worried a little about getting low ball offers... Does anyone have experience with that?

Also I have two postings as one includes the setting and one without. I didn't know that isn't recommended. I can combine the two. Should I keep it under loose stone or under ring?

Thanks!

Use one listing, either with or without the setting, and mention the other option/price in it.

Pricing is for a secondhand stone is usually seen around 70% of retail, I think. Maybe 80% for a sought-out color/clarity/branded cut. I think you're asking too much. It doesn't really matter if you get lowball answers, just decline them. ::)

Contact GOG and find out what the buyback is on your diamond. Then add some small and reasonable percentage if you sell on your own. Maybe 5% to 10%. Settings typically are worth scrap value on resale unless a name brand, and then they generally sell at about 30% of the full retail price in my experience (yes, 30% OF retail; so 70% reduction in value). My experience is that people will only make an offer is the asking price is within striking distance (i.e., 10%) of their offer. So price too high and you get no offers. You can just decline low ball offers.

shhhhhh I am saving up for these (in my dreams) :halo:

OP I feel like I am beating the dead horse, but agreed...I'd list it either 75 or 80% of retail otherwise send it to GOG for them to buy it back. It's a great stone but for that price, someone could easily buy a new AVC from GOG.
