Thank you, everyone who has either commented or just read and thought nice things. I''ve had a helluva journey for sure, but by no means has it made me doubt that there is an entire world and beyond full of hope, love, and all of those other good things for myself and for everyone. Being in love makes you just go, "everything will be ok." Perhaps not the most eloquent phrase from me, but wow...I just can''t express it any better than that.

Haha--yes, he''s very aware of that. I was talking about travel websites like expedia, etc. the other day and he said, "oh yeah, and Pricescope." He meant Priceline, I think, but it was funny that he remembered PS. I don''t know if he''s been on here or not.

Thank you ALL again for your lovely words and support! I am really loving this time of my life and so, so happy with feeling like my future with SO will just be wonderful. I''ve looked at so many of your (collective) posts about your relationships and marriages and thought "that''s such a great example of two people being content with each other and happy in life" and been inspired that there was someone out there for me even though I''m not a very romantic person. Although my parents are still married after 40+ years, they haven''t been the greatest role models in terms of upholding their vows and actually loving each other. So I have looked to friends or this community for clues towards what exactly a great relationship entails, at times. Thank you--it''s been very helpful and I''m not afraid to admit that being part of this community has partially shaped who I''ve become and how I choose to deal with things.

This will sound really sappy coming from me...but he''s sleeping right now and I''m just sitting here thinking that it''s one of those beautiful moments in life.

We actually met last Labor Day weekend when I decided to take the weekend off from socializing and become a recluse for just one weekend. I was working just as hard at re-establishing my social life as I was at my actual job so I figured I could use a weekend all to myself without committing to any plans whatsoever. By Sunday night I was a wee bit bored, reading Best of Craigslist and laughing over all the sarcastic, yet well-written ads. I thought, "hey, I could write one of those" and proceeded to post something concise and straightforward about what I really wanted. A cross between tired-of-the-BS and hey-you-know-what-would-be-really-awesome?-if-you-didn''t-turn-out-to-be-a-loser sort of thing.

Just so happened it caught SO''s attention, he sent me a response, and 24 hours later we were speaking on the phone for 3 hours a night. I quickly had enough of that (I HATE talking on the phone!) so we set up a date and the rest just fell into place so easily it''s SPOOKY.

My b-day was yesterday and the new assistant at work was positive he was going to propose. I didn''t think so, but I mentioned that to him anyway at the end of the night and he said "your birthday is your special day. The day I propose will always be OUR special day." I was pretty happy about that.
