That is a real sweet aquamarine crystal!
When he is holding the amethyst and citrine he also says none of the stones are heat treated...
ya, right....that citrine is not heat treated...sure :Up_to_something:

Wow that aquamarine is pretty impressive, try setting that in a ring, lol.

Love the color of the aquamarine and I see some nice clean chunks in there that will render fine gems... :$$):

As for the citrine??? Well not having one in my lab to test I cannot say heated or unheated as they do occur in nature...; but as Barrett said in so many words so much of that material is heated smoky quartz or off colored amethyst as the cost effectiveness of heating good colored amethyst to make a cheaper citrine is not cost effective. I know it takes low heat in the 550 range but if the material has Iron with Silicon Dioxide it will be of that natural yellow color... Only testing the bands or zoning in the stone will give a more definite determination IF the gems are heated or not; but I cannot say the man is speaking an untruth as I cannot test the gems he is trying to sell... :saint: lol

But the aqua is a very fine rock and I would love to have it about 10 hours with my 20" saw to tear that rascal apart to make some very fine cutting gems out of it :) LOL Seeing it is not a complete unadulterated terminated crystal for the purist's benefit :o

I'm pretty sure the owner of that aqua in the video said that a 40,000ct clean, top quality cut aquamarine gem could be wrenched out of that boulder. There's no way you'd get one clean cut gem out of there in 1 piece. You'd be able to get many smaller ones though, as you pointed out.

I don't think it'll cut a single giant piece but several very large pieces and lots of smaller ones.

Claiming a minimum of 33.3% return on cutting that chunk, highly unlikely but I did not see the other sides. Maybe we only saw the bad side. I would bet on about a 20% return and some will still be included, not good for Aqua. Best regards, Lee
