Hello, wondering if you can give some more help to me please?

I have fairly narrow fingers, US size 5.125, and I’m now starting to wonder about carat size on my finger. I had previously thought that 1ct would be fine, however I’m beginning to think it might look too large, and now thinking about .75ct instead (I know that may be pretty small by pricescope standards, but I really don’t want something too large as I’m a practical sort of girl).

Only trouble is, I need to think about this fairly quickly, and because of my job as it stands currently, I am not near a store to compare visual sizes in real life.

Could someone help me out by posting pictures of 1ct and .75 ct rings, preferably on their hands? In an ideal world, the rings would be on someone with a finger about the same size of mine so I can compare apples with apples!

Any help is appreciated on this!

Thanks!

ETA (finally saw how to do this, duh) stone of preference is Round Brilliant, but i'm happy with any pics that might give me a rough idea! Thanks..

my fingure size is same as yours. i don''t have any pics to post though but 1ct size is not too big , it''s just right and you will not believe as you start wearing ring, you feel the size is shrinking and you feel you can a have a bigger stone, if 1 ct fits in your budget then go for it.

This chart might be useful.

Yes that table is definitely helpful, thankyou. Is the red area in the table showing the ''ideal'' coverage of finger? Bit like a body mass index table does, if you know what I mean?

Some pics would help to clarify what coverage looks like in real life though...anyone?!

Yeah, a bit like a BMI chart. I'm not convinced that the orange area is the "ideal" coverage. I think peoples' tastes are too subjective to classify in this way, but it might be a generalisation.

oops, just realised that i may have offended some folks by saying the word ''ideal''. Totally not meant to be offensive, just trying to figure things out that''s all.

I''m a size 4.5 - which is pretty darn close to a 5

My diamond is just over 1ct at 1.08...
Hope this helps :)

Ha! I didn''t even realise it could be taken in a bad way! But I see now how folks might misunderstand.

thanks Cleopatra, lovely ring, yes that definitley helps me to get an idea, thanks very much for posting a picture for me.

Thanks again Cleaopatra, another very helpful photo, and that link you included is perfect, really really helpful!

THANKS!

I also have a 1ct diamond and a size 4.5 finger...

Here is a picture of my late MIL''s .75 on my size 5 - 5.5 finger. I think that it provides nice coverage

My 0.79 (6.02 mm in diameter) on a size 5 finger. Please disregard the zombie nail color - I didn''t realize sheer green would look like that.

If the one carat comfortably fits in your budget, I would suggest you go for the larger size. You''ll be surprised at how quickly diamonds "shrink" when you get used to wearing them!
