My wonderful husband gifted me a pair of excellent quality diamond stud earrings about 6 months ago. The pair is about 2.02 in weight and F VS2 (from ID jewelry). They were not inexpensive and are very pretty.

What I’ve learned is that my 1 ctw pair is much more comfortable for daily wear. I do not think resetting these from a basket to martini will help.

I have been reflecting on what else these could become. I hate to lose money by reselling. Any ideas on recycling?

You could make a three stone ring, with a colored stone center. You could even do a lab grown colored stone to save some money.

Or, a moi et toi style ring.

A pendant of some nature.

Lots of options!

I am a bit of a pendant fanatic, so I'm biased that direction! Lol! But maybe set one into a simple solitaire pendant and the other into a fancier halo style? You could even do different metals to differentiate them. That would give you two totally different looks!

Such a great idea! Thank you!!!

That's about the size limit I'd want in a ring, so I wouldn't want to do a multi-stone ring with it. I'd probably do a pendant and a solitaire ring.

Or I'd do a three stone pendant with a tourmaline or zircon center stone

I have a super great idea! Why don’t you give those 2ctw studs to me, I will be happy to take them off your hand for free! ;)

If you don’t have a pendant already I’d definitely do that and if you wear multiple metal colors then two pendants make sense.
another option would be a bracelet with one of the stones. There are some really pretty open bangle/cuffs with a solitaire stone.
Toi et moi is also a good option especially if you like an antique vibe.

Is there anything else your heart desires? You could contact Yekutiel and ask him if you could trade these in toward another purchase?
I like the pendant idea too.

Thank you! Well, he purchased them fairly recently and I contacted ID via Instagram this week and they said trading isn’t an option at this point. I get it .

Looks like the pendant is a good idea and or maybe a bracelet. The Moi et toi ring is sounding interesting too.

I like all of your suggestions. Thank you for the great ideas!

I'd consider two right hand 3-stone rings, each with a round diamond center stone.

For me all the fun would be reseaerching and selecting the side stones.
Ruby? pad? emerald? etc. etc. etc.
Sapphires come in a rainbow of hue choices, and they're almost as hard-wearing as diamond.

Also, I'd pick just one set of side stones now, and save the other project for some future event, like a milestone anniversary.
That would give me something now, but also time to deeply research colored stones and give me something to look forward to.
In the future it would be nice to have a choice of two different expression of your wonderful husband's gift.

What a nice first-world problem you have there. :P2

What about stud enhancers for your 1 ctw studs? For fancier dinners or parties?

One pendant and one solitaire bracelet.

You could even probably have them made as stud enhancers that would also be able to be worn as pendants.

this sounds cool. What are stud enhancers? I absolutely LOVE my 1 ctw studs. One was my original engagement ring and that pair is my heart. I do not feel any real attachment to this new, bigger pair other than he tried so hard and was so generous =)2

I am wondering what they mean, too! I am familiar with jackets for studs that give them the appearance of a halo. These are for 6mm studs, but they would definitely have them or make them in whatever size you need for your half carat stones (closer to 5mm or so).

Something like this that would hang on the post in either the front or the back and drop down. Could then probably also thread a chain through to wear it as a pendant or have the basket made in such a way that a chain could be threaded through or attach on.

ah yes! That's what I've seen, too.

I change my vote to this idea!
