2.04 MRB in VC Emilya halo

I just sent off my rb diamond to Victor to be re-set in Emilya..debating on cushion or round! I thought I was set on cushion but after seeing yours I'm torn now. This forum has been SO helpful in my quest to re-set my solitaire!!

my ring size is 4.5. I prefer the emilya in a round rather than cushion. But it's personal preference! The melee are full cut. According to my appraisal, the melee measure 1.0-1.3 mm each.

Did Victor recommend the full cut for your center stone or was that your preference? I think I read single cuts go better with cushion/antique diamonds while full cuts better suite RB. But not sure...

shoot him an email- he will answer your questions! Don't be afraid to ask! Are you doing the regular or flush stems? that could make a difference?

I've already asked him many, many questions so don't want to be annoying but I guess when you can't try something on in person first and are spending the $$$ it's warranted

So now that I've given the go ahead for the round emilya I'm worried about the ring size.
How did you determine your ring size and does your emilya spin?
My eternity wedding band is 4.5 but spins (went on bigger size since eternity and thicker).
Victor has my original ER and said the shank isn't uniform and varies bw 4.25 and 4.375.
My knuckle is larger and in the summer ER was sometimes difficult to get past knuckle but fine once past
and even spun some. So with a smaller shank on emilya (1.8-1.9 mm) do I go with 4.25 or 4.375?
I told VC 4.375 thinking its easier to size down then up??

For a hand forged ring, it is VERY important to size it right the first time. What I would do is go to the mall and find a cheap ring that fits you PERFECTLY. Overnight it to Victor. My fingers shrink in the winter to about a 4.25. My wedding band which fit perfectly is a 4.5. Now that it is getting colder, it does spin a bit , but that's to be expected. It just is what it is....Victors rings are do light, that aren't "top heavy" like all of my others.

Sorry, I've been out of the loop- got a job. LOL! Yes, the stones were an extra charge. VERY minimal, though. They are my birthstone and my husbands birthstone. I'll post a close up pic later...

I just said emilya. He knows how to get the proportions perfect. You don't have to tell him anything. The melee in the halo is a little smaller than the band, I believe….
