Hi Everybody!
First, I would like to say thank you to the members of this site for all of the helpful post that I digested before I made the perfect purchase. I contacted many of the recomended diamond vendors that offered OMB cushions or vintage cuts before deciding to fly 1,000 miles to view Engagement Rings Directs inventory in New York. They don't just talk the prestigious 580 World Diamond Tower talk: they walk the walk.
Now, I would like to thank Chris Anadiotis of ERD, who I corresponded with for weeks via dozens of emails. He was by far the most informative, attentive, and genuine representative that I contacted. He worked for my business, which was refreshing, whereas several representatives of other vendors seemingly had the "our product sells itself attitude-so get in line and pay what we ask." When I arrived for my appointment with Chris, he had all of the many diamonds that we had corresponded about the weeks prior and more arranged on his desk for me to view! I must have had 8 diamonds within my specification on the table side by side at one time. After conversations about each diamonds personality, I kept narrorowing it down one by one until I finally chose the perfect stone for my perfect girl. There is a link to the video below of my diamond in its custom setting(that is a simple 1.8mm elegant band with a unique setting, making the center stone the clear focal point) that Chris also helped me with.

I met my girlfriend over 2 years ago for the first time when I was her escort in my college roommates wedding. She, like the diamond, was living about 1,000 miles away but something has drawn us closer together(geographically and metaphorically) ever since that day we walked down the isle as members of the same wedding party. I am attempting a surprise destination proposal in about 5 weeks and I am so excited. I am hiring a photographer for the proposal, so I will get some great ring shots for you guys then! I have already ordered a antique tortoiseshell leather ring box from the UK that is going to make some pretty cool photos.
Wish me luck in her agreeing to walk down the isle one more time with me!
